Fabric bunches up and not absorbent

These fit well, and are good for standing and walking. But there are 2 dealbreaker issues - The fabric is thin and sheer, which makes them tend to ride up and bunch while seated. On a long road trip they became quite uncomfortable, and left the skin irritated for a few days. The other problem is the fabric is not absorbent, so any drops of urine just roll off and spread around. I find it better if boxers are absorbent so you're not left with wetness against the skin. Boxers from Old Navy do not have these issues.

3 panels in back, like a diaper style

If you are thin and like a "shorts" cut on underwear with a seam down the middle in the back these are NOT what you want, these may be good for a huskier build, they are really big on someone who is lean.
In a store I did find "original" fit which is what I was looking for. The label on this and very vague description is misleading.
These have an extra panel in the rear end and if you're thin they bunch up and you'll have to pull them down a lot.
HANES should mention 3 panel and show a photo of the back of these there is no way to know.
I purchased 2 packages and washed them all, and did not realize they were different than what I usually buy.
I read I can't return them since they are not "new" since I washed them, very disappointed.

Elastic fails about a year in. Super comfy otherwise

Oddly enough the elastic on most of these wears out in about a year though the fabric is all still fine. I’m going to ask for a refund on these because it’s some kind a flaw in their manufacturing system. These are the most comfortable and functional boxers otherwise. My only theory is they are not designed for sports or high temperature dryer or something. Quite the mystery though!

June 2021 - when Fruit of the Loom botched three orders I switched to Hanes. These are good value for money, and generally workable boxers. However, actual size varies. In pack of five one pair was as much as 3/4 inch smaller in waist than another. Disappointing - out of five boxers, I have three that fit comfortable, one fits a bit snug, the other is in the donate to charity box already (just too small for comfort).

Good but not 100% cotton

These boxers would be 5 stars if they were all cotton. They are a 55/45 cotton polyester though. They fit well and the waistband doesn't bind or scratch. 2XL is a good fit for a 44" waist. I have been using this brand for several years. I get a minimum of 100 washings out of these, maybe closer to 150. The colors you receive will be random and will not match the picture. In my recent order I got 5 different patterns. Two blue, two red, one green. They are comfortable and are a fair price.

Update Aug 2020. I reordered these and got the correct waistband- the one in the same material as the rest of the boxers. I saw some reviews mentioned that they got the black waistband despite what the picture shows.

The loose fit and comfortable but secure waistband add to the balance of these traditional, but updated boxers. I almost forgot to mention that I love the patterns. These boxers are nothing short of perfect for me. If you are a real man, you'll love the way these fit, look and most importantly, feel on your privates!!! P.S. Did I mention the pure joy of ventilation? No "funny odors" or twisting? Great price too!!!

Quality is bad. Elastic is not good. It could fail & drop the boxer any time. It is big & loose (I am not lean), elastic is low quality, very thin as you can see through it.
The worst is there is no button to hold my genital coming out.
Very uncomfortable to wear.
I don't understand how people gave such good rating. I was fooled by it. I cannot even return it as I need to tear open the packet to see.
