This book totally confused me. I had a hard time figuring out what was going on. The two sisters had everything possible bad happen to them. It couldn't have been more depressing. One was divorced, husband was a jerk, spent all the money, left her in debt, sold the house out from under her, she breaks her leg and can't drive or get around, the house sells and now she has no place to live, small town and no decent rentals, got fired from her job, and on and on and on. Good grief these two couldn't catch a break.
Then they decide to move back in their old family home that they had been renting out. As a last resort, they decide it is better than the street. So they get to the house and a total bum is living in the house selling off all his dead mother's possessions. She was a hoarder so the house is packed. They can't get rid of this freeloader. This is where I gave up. Good grief this mess got 5 stars?
So, I figured I really should read some reviews to see if it was just me. That is when I discovered it was a CLIFFHANGER ending. OMG could it get any worse? I would really have like to have seen something develop between the artist next door and the nurse, but I really don't think it is worth reading anymore to see if that happens. If you want to read this book, good luck to you. I don't think in all good faith I could recommend it with what I have read so far. All these two needed was for their dog to die! Just not for me.
I was not paid for this review. I am not an author nor do I know one. I am not kin to this writer. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 9/3/17

3 & 1/2 stars rounded up.
I enjoyed this story, it held my interest to the end, even though the main characters (Elle & Alex) seemed to base a relationship off of lust not love. I did like most of the characters including the supporting characters. It was clicking along great with a good flow, & then abruptly ended. The ending was totally rushed! The ending also left unanswered questions, like what was in the article, did he have a show, did the relationship work out, etc? (the ending was the reason for 3 & 1/2 stars cause it left me frustrated) An epilogue might have helped that ending out, with something in the future, maybe at the art show showing they are still together & madly in love or something. I would also have loved to know what Alex said to her at the restaurant- in Russian- that had the women so sexually charged up! LOL Like most women, a good accent or words spoken in another language, sigh, I could listen to an Irish or Scottish accent all day! This book was set up well for a series, I see Gabe has his book out now, & I'm sure the sister will have a book too.

Was enjoying this easy read book, the characters, the way it was written, yes predictable but then it just stopped. It ended. Story over. WTF....?
If I actually had the physical book in my hand I would have turned the last page back and forward wondering where the rest of the story had gone to. Was that it...? The story is finished??
It felt like the author was writing a very small word count, had reached it and then it was like, the end. It had the potential to be an OK kind of read but then it just finished. Really....? Can you tell I feel ripped off and disappointed??

It would've been a great read if it hadn't ended so suddenly. Spent 10 minutes looking for book 2 which doesn't have a continuation of Elle &Alex. Bah humbug!

The writing was fine, and while there was sex it wasn't explicit. It's just that the whole story seemed to be based and revolved around chemistry and lust between the h and H.

Loved this book! Sisters re-bonding, the older one moving back to help the younger one and her child. The conversations and thoughts are a delight to follow with sass as well as lots of humor throughout, favorite is the toilet problems. The story revolves around an incident at high school for the older sister who left home to become a nurse and is now back and finds a job working for a doctor connected with high school and the incident which also involves a now well known metal artist who resides in this town. Turns out to be a neighbor again as in teen years. The older sister and the artist are the main characters and love interest. This is rather tame "sexual interest" book if that helps your decision to read this. I found the humor delightful and a fresh approach. Loved the artist - he was so intent in his love for her that he had tunnel vision and just needed and wanted her in his life. And his crazy computer guy friend, OMG. Did I say that the love of his life did not have much interest in art? Some of her descriptions of it had me howling with laughter. And the dog . . . want it. Lovely read.

I really liked this novel. I enjoyed both characters, and even Gabe. But the author spent so much time writing unnecessary scenes rather than developing the relationship between the two main characters. The story was already short for a novel but spending so much time on a squatter and a toilet from hell felt like a waste of time and plot. While I love the character development and Alex's personality is amazing, I'm reluctant to read another North novel.

Absolutely adorable, funny, romantic and sweet! It's a quick read, lots of fun, compact entertainment. Elle is a quirky, linear thinking nurse and Alex is a masterful artist passionate about his set and Elle.
I'm impressed with Isabel North's ability to write about the spicy, sexy stuff, without being overly explicit. This is a book you can read in the waiting room of your OB/GYN. It's entertaining enough that you don't notice the wait but not so steamy you start blushing when your name is called to see the doctor. Excellent!

First book in a series. This is a standalone romance with a HEA with characters that are going to reappear in the next couple of books. There are some laugh out loud moments along the way as the dialogue is pretty snappy. Alex sounds like a gorgeous hero who deserves success with his muse.
The only reason I've given four stars not five is that after the initial attraction between the couple and lots of thinking about sex , we get some hot and steamy foreplay. But then suddenly......cut to the morning after! It is not as if the rest of the writing is clean as we get the f... word as well. Bit odd.

It took a bit for me to get into but once I got passed half way I was hooked..... Alex was a heavy, brooding character that softened when Elle came back to town. I would of loved to see how their relationship developed, it ended where really it could of continued...

Loved this book. Very funny with great characters and story. Felt it finished rather abruptly but maybe that’s just me...I love an epilogue!

Seems like I am the only one who does not like this book. I have only read a few chapters and can't stand it. The dialogue is long winded and strange, the so called hero is a creeper. Far from kissing him back she should have sued his ass for sexual harassment ugg.
