Fiery cop/detective Lauren has become the target of drug lords. She was in the middle of a set up and killed their leader and 8 others. They want revenge. She herself was shot and Mary is taking care of her in Pearl. Wow, what a wild ride we have here. Twists and turns, lots of action, an interesting suspenseful story, and deep thought filled characters. Harper, Galvin, Gus, Orin, and Mace are ex Navy Seals with their big secure home, and a security business, who can protect her from the hit that's on her head. Harper finds her first in the woods jogging, and he startled her, she draws her Glock, and the attraction is beginning. They don't know the how or why of her story, but they are attracted to her. When they hear her tale, they are more than interested in protecting her, and keeping her. This ménage romance is a thrill ride! They don't have sex until 80% into the story. Each hot man is different from the next, but each can give her what she needs. Great guys, a strong woman, and interest make this a great tale. ENJOY !!!

Okay, another by Dixie Lynn Dwyer. I really do like to read her books, but the last several have been very lacking in a lot of areas. It irritated me how she wrote the guys into this story. They knew what was best for Lauren, kept her gun away from her and felt that since she was a female, she should be helpless and depend on them. Also, to much Russian mob again in this story.

But I do understand why the badge that she cherished so much was so heavy to carry for her. She loved what she did, but it was becoming to heavy a burden to handle for her. When all she wanted was to be with her sisters and help them open the little shop that they wanted to open.

But it was a HEA with them being together at the end of the book. Getting the bad guys and putting them away for good and having her sisters with her once more made for a great ending.

I have read many of the authors books and the more I read the more I get disappointed. I feel like the stories become so rushed and undeveloped. Lauren was one of the strongest female characters and she just somehow ended up giving up to her SEALs with a token protest after proclaiming her independence. I don't know if I will continue to read this author's work.

This one was a bit different because Lauren is a very strong woman.
But like in the other books you get to have Lauren in Pearl and have her falling in love with sexy men.
As usual, good storyline and suspense

It was good but not brilliant. End part needs stretching out a bit. There are some unanswered questions left (how bad guys knew she will be where she was?) and it all glues quiet too fast. Another twenty pages would do wonders.
