Ten years after An Inconvenient Truth brought climate change into the forefront of
mainstream culture, this compelling follow-up shows that while the stakes have never been
higher, the solutions to the climate crisis are still within our reach.
Saw it in the theater. The movie handles a complex subject in a clear and understandable format. Al Gore challenges you to think about the way we use the resources of this planet. To quote Ghandi, “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed.”
This comes as a sad surprise to deniers of Environmental Armageddon. The unbelievers, scoffers, openly critical and deliberate Nay Sayers react as if they were never made to be aware of our coming catastrophic ecological events. I have a treasured copy of Rachel Carson's "Silent Spring". There is a passage, by Al Gore ! The inconvenience of this powerful truth, involves money and the greedy gain of same. In our comparatively short human existences, a lifetime passes ; unheralded and unremembered.Wars are fought, won or lost with equal consequences to the sea around us all. Our earthly home is in deathly peril...yet we dream on, never truly awake to our danger, until, too late. Humanity breeds on, as carelessly as a discarded plastic bottle. The B.P. oil spill that devastated our Gulf of Mexico, all but forgotten...the oil speculators long to set out more imperfect rigs and gamble again with our precious ecosystem, amid some of the worst, most unstable weather systems in Hurricane History.Fact : our 45th presidential "leader", offers his advise, "good luck". Environmental elements, unchecked, caused a blood allergy & my father's early death by Hodgkin s Disease(before the cure) ;. Ignorance does kill ; by the very newsprint ink, he loved all of his PDG newspaper man's life!
This movie shows how interconnected are our actions at every level in society. Climate crisis goes beyond our backyards and we cannot ignore- it-not for our own sake or monetary gain, but for our children's future. It's sad that climate crisis discourse quickly turns into politics because small groups just seek money and power. It's inspiring that some cities and countries are joining in to do their part and already seeing the benefits of being inconvenient.
I have only seen a clip from the movie, but I stand behind Al Gore's strong efforts to try and inform the people of what we are doing to our home planet. What will it look like and smell like for our grandchildren? Small efforts from everyone would make a huge difference!! I did a research paper on Global Warming in college in 1982 and absolutely everything I found and wrote about has come true!! People must listen to Al Gore and the scientific world. Open your eyes people!!! Debra
I bought this documentary and have not seen it yet but I believe every word that Gore and other scientist have spoken as far as this climate issue and the future life of this planet. so if you are dead set against Mr. Gore fine but he is not the issue so please do not shoot the messanger get your bucks together and fly off to Mars and be done with it and let the rest of us live in a world with air.
I wonder how the house of all these deniers looks inside considering they dont mind poluting the earth that we share not only with people, but with the rest of the animals... but Im sure its not clean. Human kind capable of so much..and at the same time so little. Good job Al Gore
