American Horror Story is an anthology horror drama series created and produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. The Emmy® and Golden Globe® winning franchise is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television
I love the AHS series. Lately they do a great job with season but then it seems like they phone it in for the ending. This has been how I feel with the last 2 seasons. They keep getting shorter and they "give up" on the ending. And for the >$40, we will not be getting the next season. We'll wait till it's on Netflix.
Dig it so far. The writers are reaching to the far ends of the left and right, showing the viewer a broad and awesome insight to paranoia and delusion on a personal and societal level. Most of the negative reviews come from people offended by the politics or reactions. This is kind of odd to me, I feel like they are missing the point of the season.
Honestly, when I first saw the news that this would involve politics as a part of the element of horror, I was a little disappointed. However, as I move through the series, I have fallen in love with most of the characters and am enjoying the story thus far!
It seems to me that while politics is playing a major role this season, the main focus/takeaway is not merely politics. It is how fear drives people to do crazy things. It is how one can use fear to divide people, which is what politics tend to do.
This seriously is a great season, and am looking forward to watching more episodes!
Once again the creators, cast and crew of this show have delivered another highly entertaining, consistently bizarre horror show. Cult had a rough start as a hodgepodge of ideas thrown together, but as usual, these storytellers and actors pulled it off, and left me wondering what's next?
Almost as bad as Roanoke.. or was it worse? I can't even tell, anymore. The first 2 seasons got me hooked. Season 3 was pretty good, imo, too. Then Freakshow and Hotel came along, both bad, but at least they stuck to their impossible supernatural ghost theme.. and even tried linking things throughout the seasons, adding mystery for the future. Sadly... a mystery I won't find out by watching anymore AHS. It's consistently gotten worse starting at Season 4... and now we are here at "Cult". Ignorant describes it best, but rushed is another feeling I got from it.
I have been enjoying AHS:Cult (at least the first seven episodes, and cannot wait for the next,). This season is quite exciting, and i cant wait to see where the remaining episodes take us. I like this season slightly more than AHS:Roanoke, and considerably more than Hotel, which, in hindsight, i have liked the least. Yes, I miss Jessica Lange being on the show since her last appearance, as most everyone else does, and i also miss Kathy Bates, and Angela Bassett being on the show as well, they were great castmembers, but the current season cast is delightful enough, and the story is intertwining and changing enough to keep me interested. At least Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are still in the show, and i enjoyed seeing Frances Conroy make an appearance this season. Lena Dunham's performance has been surprisingly good, and the look at SCUM, another cult, is very intriguing. Give this season a chance, it's better than the last two seasons..
