Knock off decoration started to come off after the first wash!!

My son tried them on when we got them. They fit fine so I washed them. Cold water low dryer. He put them on for work (lifeguarding) and the C was falling off. I told him to take them off because I have HTV and I can fix them. Well went to fix the C and the decoration became destroyed. Yes, I know I should not have ironed on the decoration it does say that inside but how was I supposed to fix them otherwise? So now they are ruined and he doesn’t want to wear them. I wouldn’t either they look horrible!! Obviously a knock off and a pretty poor one at that even though the tag says Calvin Klein Swimwear.
