2. So this laptop comes with Windows 11 and thought it may be daunting to some (was for me at first since I was still using Windows 10 on my older Predator Helios 300 despite I being progged to update to 11) this Windows 11 is actually very clean and easy to use (so far). So I guess I love it.
3. So two things I realized that are missing in this newer Predator Helios 300 from the older one is a Memory (SD they call it-?) Card Reader and a USB-C slot. Ok, so it comes with a USB-C slot to the back, but I believe that's the Thunderbolt one for alternative charging? Whether I can fit my external drive in there I'll have to do some further research. If it can't I'll use the other cable that came with my external drive (Samsung Portable SSD T5 which comes with two alternative cables so I can use one or the other *blink*) so not a complete loss on my end.
4. *PLEASE TAKE NOTE* - TURBO-MODE-IS-VERY-LOUD. YOU-HAVE-BEEN-WARNED-!!! XDXDXD
But on a side note it cools down the laptop quickly too!
5. So this new laptop version gets a bit hot but not EXTREMELY hot like the older one which tries to fry my hands despite I having a Cooling Pad. But I have also yet to play in the settings of the newer version so I guess I can do some adjustments to keep the temperature lower. But you can buy a cooling pad for good extra measure. (You get to have external cooling and the option to adjust your laptop after all! A Two-in-One Deal! ^.~)
6. The Laptop has a good weight but Blue Heavens! The charger itself is nothing to sneeze at! Together they might help some weight lifting! Unless you plan gain some muscles whilst carrying these things maybe it's a no-go for leaving the house. If you have a mode of transportation that won't be a problem. Or maybe if you gradually get used to the weight eventually-? (I'll try!!! >.<;;)
7. So when I bought this newer version I was also given the option of buying a brand of their mouse and mousepad. Though I don't usually take the offers I took these and I must say I-HAVE-NO-REGRETS. All my life the only kinds of electronic mice I've purchased in my own country have always had these kind of cheap plastic empty feel. But this mouse-?! The weight, texture, quality- everything is just *chef's kiss*. And the mousepad is so smooth and sweet with it's cool artistic colours! (And when I got the mouse by the way it was on sale for 20ish dollars at the time but its original price is DEFINITELY* worth it too!)
My goodness. Never in my life have I ever written THIS much in a review before! I guess this goes to show how much I LOVE this product! Hahahahaha! Happy Gaming and whatever reasons you get this wonderful product for!
UPDATE as of 19th June, 2023.
So remember in point #3 that I mentioned about being unsure about the USB C-Slot being able to fit m External Drive? Turns out it was an immediate success! And I'm having LOTS of fun with this computer, yes!

So remember in point #3 that I mentioned about being unsure about the USB C-Slot being able to fit m External Drive? Turns out it was an immediate success! And I'm having LOTS of fun with this computer, yes!
Witcher 3 - I can comfortably (with turbo mode ON, otherwise GPU hit 90+ C) play on maximum/high settings, with the GPU (and CPU) being well within acceptable range. Very smooth game play (At least 60fps, although I don't know how to get an FPS counter in it [Steam FPS counter doesn't work in it]).
OW/BL2/Other FPS - No turbo mode required, maximum settings, easily hits 144fps.
TV/YOUTUBE/MUSIC:
Screen is great, obviously. Sound is fine.
WORK/SCHOOL:
It is quite on idle, but a bit of noise with multiple tabs/Word docs. open - but with a professor talking or other students typing, was never a concern. But sometimes I did feel a bit obnoxious in the library. But only a bit.
With earbuds in, can't hear any laptop fan noises (with turbo on, ofc, it's a different story).
BUILD QUALITY AND KEYBOARD:
I can hold and handle the laptop anyways I want - it's that solid. Feels premium to me. It does, as shown in Jarrod's video, get your grubby finger prints all over it, and plus the kind of gamery (still low key) logo on the front + the big vents, PLUS the bit of fan noise, it may not be for you if you're doing office work in a very quite environment, around other people.
The KEYBOARD is fantastic! It is sturdy, with zero noticeable flex. I do a lot of typing, and coming from the great Mac keyboard, this keyboard is still GREAT.
Dedicated turbo key is nice, when I use it (looking at you, Witcher 3).
Keyboard/laptop does have some sharp edges and very infrequently do need to shift my wrists (but again, it's really not a problem).
Trackpad is, like the videos show, sufficient, but not very good.
BATTERY:
I only game with it plugged in, and have not had any problems yet.
When I take it with me to class, I get it to like 50% ish after a 2hr class, with multiple tabs (whatsapp, amazon, gmail, and of course word docs) open. To be very safe, I would say three hours of use without battery, but even that is probably on the lower end.
CAMERA:
It's fine, lol. Nothing special. Gets Zoom done fine.
OVERALL:
Great laptop for both gaming and work. Easily hits 144fps, great laptop (no flex), sturdy build, decent charge. But, like every gaming laptop, can be rather loud, has a bad trackpad, beefy charger, slightly gamery look. A lot of good competition out there now (Razorblade 15, new HP Omen 15, Lenovo Legion, etc), but the keyboard on the Helios 300 is the best, so it seems to me. Also, it has the most reviews so is the most reliable at the moment.
Very satisfied with my purchase. You will be too.

It comes with the common laptop accessory (power supply, I'd recommend getting a second power supply, or atleast just the AC wire part of it, so you can leave the AC part plugged in at the desk at all times while travelling with the DC portion and another spare AC wire for it)
It also comes with a hardware wire. Do not lose this wire as it'll be needed for if ever one wishes to connect a secondary internal storage device.
I had lost mine and needed to order a replacement which was difficult to find.
I managed to fit a regular 4tb hard disk drive inside (not recommended) and had to get alternative screws that were a little bit longer so that i could screw most of the shell/case back in place.
Will eventually 3d print some type of shell/case spacer, but using electrical tape in the meantime to give a "sealed appearance" to that additional 2mm gap caused by the thickness of that 4tb laptop sized hdd (being a bit thicker than anything under 2tb).
Eventually plan to replace that 500GB NVMe SSD with something larger, maybe a 2TB NVMe SSD...
I replaced the OS, using a dual-boot approach. Both using a custom Windows 10 image from Ghostspectre (both using their "Superlite"/without defender option).
1 of the dual-boot is extremely light, as it has nothing at all in it except for whatever is needed for gaming (and also having access to a portable/non installed version of firefox). By doing so, the OS now uses the least possible amount of ressources, leaving a much more "unused difference" of ressources available to be used by games, being able to output a higher graphic quality.
The other OS in the dual boot is setup as a regular OS manner with apps like microsoft office, AutoCAD, Wondershare Filmora, etc etc etc...
Eventually plan to include a Windows 7 and a Windows 8.1 within the dual boot options for even lesser used ressources (while using OpenShell as a Windows 8.1 Start Menu replacement, giving it a "Windows 7 look-a-like Start Menu" instead of that fullscreen thing).
Knowing that Windows 7 and 8.1 aren't exactly DirectX12 friendly, many games nowadays also supports "Vulkan" (which Vulkan is supported in both Windows 7 Windows 8.1 and up).
On the bright side, it is beautiful and performs well in games. The graphics are great.
I would recommend this laptop if you plan to have it in one place like a desktop. If you want portability, this is not the one to get.
