I had an old copy of this book and it was falling apart. I was so happy to find a new book with all the pages intact. I use recipes out of this book all the time. Couldn't find a better book.

Did not like the book at all. It is old book, with lots of lots of recipes all over the place. This book for old style bread making. The steps are not well defined and there are no pictures at all. It is hard to select recipe because there are no pictures and by reading cooking steps I could not really comprehend what you end up at the end. This is just not my book, and it went straight to Salvation Army.

Wonderful, no-nonsense recipes for all kinds of breads. The batter dinner rolls are delicious, easy, and always a hit. Same goes for the egg twist bread. It's too bad this book is out of print. Get a copy of this great book before they're all gone.

Love the old fashioned recipes made with ingredients that most of us have in our kitchen.

I have had this book probably from the original date published. I just re-discovered it and made homemade bread for Christmas presents. The recipe or Old Fashioned White Bread with Wheat Germ makes a very flavorful bread with the very best consistency. I sliced some thin and made a grilled cheese sandwich that was really yummy. I like making bread with my hands - that is what puts all of the love into the bread.

You know this is my favorite bread cookbook because this is where I stick news clippings of other bread recipes! The standout feature is the many variations on themes of breads, and they're all delicious. You will find recipes from other countries that perhaps you've wondered before about making. Highly recommended.
