This almost reads like The Gang That Couldn’t Shoot Straight. How these crooks got so far is amazing. Too bad there are so many corrupt people on both sides of the fence.

Fascinating true story of how organized crime spread its wings in more contemporary times. It's not common knowledge the world-wide reach the mafia had in the early 70s. Apparently well before that.
Shocking (well, not too shocking since Godfather 3. I always took that with a grain of truth.)) request from Vatican banking.
Dedicated investigators faced daunting roads, amid foresight and luck, makes for a great story.

Interesting but far from riveting. I'm about 75% through & I have started to skim rather than read.

I ordered this book for my uncle as he worked with some of the actual people this book is based on. He had been wanting it for a while and I found it on Amazon. He was extremely pleased with it.

I was hoping that there would be more information on the people in the Vatican and how they tried to game the US

Book was great from beginning to the end. Enough curves for all who like true crime's. Enjoyed it all. Read.

Originally read this TRUE STORY when it was first published and gave away several copies
to friends. Glad I found it again for my own library.

It is a sad commentary that the Catholic Church would have bishops that would even consider getting involved with bogus stocks. Hopefully, they are all dead and gone.

Great introduction in the dirty financial goings-on of the Vatican. Kudos to the cops that really tried to bring light and justice into this - even though, as in all other great scandals that surrounded the Vatican Bank, the outcome remains unclear and the ultimate cover-up is obvious.
