I long ago learned that buying a used book can be chancy. My complaint is against the vendor, who plastered the volume with stickers. The kind that don't peel off. This arrived today. The Mishnah is the earliest collection of Rabbinical texts; compilation began after 90 CE, and was completed some three centuries later. There was an earlier translation by Herbert Danby, and published by Oxford in 1933. Neusner was a prolific author. His version of the Mishnah was largely translated by his doctoral students, which is actually quite true to the methods of the ancient sages. I must caution that, unlike the Bible or the works of Plato, you can't just jump into this material. It refers to long dead Rabbinical scholars whom, unless you grew up as a Jew, you'd not recognize as having a place in history. Not for the faint of heart!

    Mishnah has number of interesting legal situations. The formating of the items is excellent and translation is very readable. For an inexpensive copy of Mishnah this is good value.
