About the author

With 19 New York Times bestsellers and more than 350 million copies of his works in circulation, L. Ron Hubbard is among the most enduring and widely read authors of our time. As a leading light of American Pulp Fiction through the 1930s and '40s, he is further among the most influential authors of the modern age. Indeed, from Ray Bradbury to Stephen King, there is scarcely a master of imaginative tales who has not paid tribute to L. Ron Hubbard.
Then too, of course, there is all L. Ron Hubbard represents as the Founder of Dianetics and Scientology and thus the only major religion born in the 20th century.
While, as such, he presents the culmination of science and spiritual technology as embodied in the religion of Scientology.

In the introduction, LRH says, "The following are rough notes", and much of the book does feel like that, like rough notes rather than a finished, polished product. It has many very short paragraphs and short chapters (I don't know how or if he intended to publish this, as the book seems to have been published some years after his death). Also, while the book is very oversized, the text of the book is only about 120 pages, the other 100 or so pages consist of appendices, "about the author", glossary, index and a list of Scientology books).
Highly recommended for long time artists, or the one that just embarking newly into the field. Both can end up getting dramatically great result in the field. Enjoy it.
One of the main things I liked about the book was the fact that it is very practical. You not only can apply it in painting a picture but also in what clothes to wear today. As Hubbard says in the book you can make living itself into an art form.
