    "Tabloids are so named because of their dimensions and this not a reference to the content of the newspaper in question." ~ (This is a direct quote from an editor I brought in my cartoons to and this editor stood by these words.)

    Ted Rall has put together this volume to spotlight 21 of his fellow cartoonists that work for alternative weekly newspapers that can be a little off the rails in their politics and opinion. Some of the folks featured here have had very successful careers (Aaron McGruder & Alison Bechdel) and others (Jennifer Berman & Brian Sendleback) have flown under the radar for quite awhile now and with only limited audiences where they are published they may remain out of the limelight for some to come.

    Each of the artists featured here get a generous six pages of art, photos and an interview with Ted Rall to tell their story. It's easier to become a movie star than attempt to make a living wage as a cartoonist these days and Ted is very aware of that fact. There may be more Stone Masons in the world than cartoonists that make enough money to pay the rent. This is the middle of three books about these talented people that take art seriously in a cruel, cruel world that makes artistic freedom seem like a couple of dirty words. For the interested, you get the goods with "Attitude 2."
