CatscratchReviewed in Australia on January 2, 20154.0 out of 5 stars Good value and surprisingly up to date
With the acquisition of Eyeone Fusion by Blackmagic Design and in the absence of a truly definite text, this Ho- to book should see a spike in sales. Whilst the current version of the program, at time of writing, is 7.5, this volume, which deals with the 6.3 version, seems remarkably up to date and appears to cover most, if not all the bases.
It's a good price, has valuable downloadable resources and is concisely written. As a previous purchaser has stated, the tutorial approach doesn't necessarily leave you with a solid understanding of the foundation processes involved, but Professor Tickoo's approach seems to be just get in and do it and the skills might just stick.
Blackmagic seems to take a longer view of their assets and I'm sure their bold move of providing, what is virtually, the full featured program for free will pay dividends into the future for them by luring potential adopters away from Nuke and After Effects. As stated, there is little out there for the novice, but combine this tome with the free Blackmagic Design Fusion user guides and you might be on your way to an exciting career.
