Just another vote for Prime streaming and Media Center compatibility. I too am sitting on the fence, and would jump on a Prime membership if I could use my Media Center setup to watch the movies and vids.

I too would love to see a MCE/Amazon Prime plugin so that I can cancel Netflix. Why is this so hard?

Very active longtime amazon customer and Prime participant. I too would appreciate a MCE plug-in. Please!

I have had Amazon prime for a while now. PLEASE add a WMC plugin so I cam stream right out of the WMC GUI. Netflix and hulu already have plug-ins. Come on Amazon!

+1 for WMC and Amazon Prime Instant. You have it already for XBox 360, so Windows Media Center should be very simple to port it over. Please do this!!

+1 Not sure why this doesn't already exist. Does Amazon want to compete with Netflix or not?

Unfortunately, it looks like MS is trying to kill off Media Center. There's hardly any support for it anymore and the current Netflix plugin is like a step child that neither MS or Netflix wants to take ownership over. With Windows 8 it's going to be worse. You have to buy Windows 8 Pro to even have access to it (+$100 over the Premium edition), but you also need to purchase a "Media Pack Add On" on top of that to get DVD playback and Media Center.

My guess is Amazon doesn't want to spend any time on a product that's slowly being killed off.

Sadly, while I will still hope a plug-in becomes available, Chris is right.
It's too bad too. I saw, with Microsoft making the Windows 8 UI look the same on computers, tablets and phones, along with a similar UI for Xbox, that Media Center could have been a big selling point. "Imagine being able to watch your movie and TV collection on any device in your home and anywhere in the world on your Windows 8 mobile phone."
If only Microsoft put Slingbox capability in the Media Center and marketed it rather than slowly kill it. I would have waited to buy a Windows Phone with that ability.
Maybe if we do buy the "upgrades" we should use the fact that we are paying for this service rather than getting it for free as just another part of Windows to demand better support an plug-ins.

To the powers that be at Amazon, please make a WMC plug-in so that we can use our WMC remotes to operate Amazon Prime video on demand service. Thank you

I'm hoping for a Media Center app/Plug in as well. I would encourage everyone to contact Amazon directly (email, chat, phone) through their Help. I don't know how much they monitor their forums, but I think they at least LOOK at their mail. Maybe it won't help, but it can't hurt!

If you use an xbox 360 as a media extender and you are a gold live member, you can now use amazon instant stream through an xbox 360 plugin. Just another workaround for now.

Chris says:
Yeah, this is for XBox and isn't a direct plugin for Media Center. Which means you have to have an XBox, a XBox Gold subscription and a Prime Subscription...

Posted on May 30, 2012, 12:10:26 PM PDT
Nick P says:
The plugin is available now on the Xbox, unfortunately you have to have Xbox live gold and the prime membership. The plugin lets you have a favorites list, which is nice, but a has flaw (as with the other "built in" amazon plugins for blu-rays players and tvs) in that all of the prime shows are displayed in multiple seasons rather than the single TV show. So you have to choose each season of a TV show individually, and find them. We definitely need a Windows Media Center Plugin, or get at least fix for the XBMC Amazon PRIME plugin which had an easy way to view and save shows and movies.

There is XBOX Support, but you need to pay for XBL and Amazon prime to watch videos you already paid for in Amaxon Prime, IMO double dipping, why do i need XBL to watch something I already paid for?

Dear Amazon,

As a prime member, I really need a Windows Media Center Plug-in for Amazon Prime. Netflix has one so I may have to sign up for their service! Thank you.

Just another request for amazon to develop MCE plugin for Amazon VOD. As others above, despite having a xbox 360, I will not pay for a gold membership. I have 3 MCE devices, all of which can get Netflix (ahem, your competitor) but not Amazon VOD.

Thanks.

We exclusively use Media Center and would pay for an Amazon service if they made a plugin available.

Let's get on with it Amazon!
