I have several movies that I downloaded from DVDs into my Itunes account and had on my Ipod. When I recently got my Ipad I went into the Itunes to transfer the movies but they won't transfer. Does anyone know if I have to redownload them to the Itunes using some sort of different software for them to be capatible on my Ipad? The guy at apple acted like they should be there but they aren't.

And they play OK in iTunes on your PC? Do you get an error message? I haven't tried to download movies since I watch Netflix. I think a normal movie takes up about a gig of space!

They work fine on my Ipod but when I try to sync my IPad from my I tunes the movies don't transfer. No error message shows up. When I originally downloaded the movies to my PC I used a software believe it was circutsoftware or something don't really remember the name of it, I have it at home.

I guess you need to contact Apple customer service. I had a program also that I used to put movies on my iTouch but you had to choose the size you wanted it to be or resolution. Maybe that has something to do with it. Sorry I can't be more help! Wish more iPad users frequented this forum!

When your iPad is connected and you look under the "movie" tab, what do you have it synced to import? All movies or have you picked individual movies?

You might try un-clicking the sync movies box, re-sync, re-check the box and sync again.

If they were "ripped" (converted from DVD) for use with an iPod, iTunes is probably protecting you from putting them on the iPad, which has much higher screen resolution, where they would not look good at all.

You generally have to rip a movie with the aim of putting it on a certain device. Or, if you don't want to target a certain device, rip it for the highest resolution one, in your case your iPad.

Check out Handbrake, that is what I use.

Did you try the vlc app (free) on iPad. After intalling vlc app on iPad, you can transfer files into vlc app using iTunes. Iirc, the transfer to vlc option is all the way to the bottom of the iPad=> apps tab in iTunes.

Josy, I don't see anything called Vic in the app store. Is there another name for it? Thanks?

You know, I had the exact same issue when I briefly had an iPad last week. Stuff my iPod could play fine my iPad wasn't capable of playing-same deal, it just wouldn't transfer. That was one of many reasons I took it back.

Hi, I bought a season of a show from amazon, but can't watch it on my iPad because of flash player. Is there any fix for this problem?

Q: Can i download a movie to my PC that I have purchased from Amazon, and then convert it to MP4 so that i can then watch the movie on my Ipad? I have 2 issues. 1) i don't have a CD drive on my laptop (i did not want one as i am trying to go digital) 2) I don't want to own physical copies of movies anymore. I have Netflix, Xfinity, HBOGo, etc, etc...and stream mostly through my Xbox 360. Debating on buying Apple TV. two concerns - 1) Apple doesn't have the breath of content i would like and there expensive. $19.99 to own a digital copy of a HD movie seems really expensive to me. 2) converting movies to be able to watch on my iPad or through Apple TV if i decide to purchase.

You don't own any of this download stuff, which means of course you may lose access to it at any time. It also means you can't use Amazon's DRM in Apple's ecosystem. It's also worth noting that the download stuff is far inferior to Blu Ray, and in fact often can't really compete with a well encoded DVD. IMO it's all a rip off.
