Waiting. It is popular enough to be repeated on cable over and over again but still no Blu Ray version. Maybe for Valentine's Day. Can the studios take a hint?

This is a classic. The music was really something too.

The Reeve's family, what luck. His accident then Dana dies
from lung cancer (was a non-smoker).

Why isn't there an internet web site that these lazy studios could monitor and get customer input on what they would like to see on Blu-ray? Consumers could list their top ten titles they would like to see on BD and then the studios could see what people would be willing to pay for. A lot of stuff coming out on Blu-ray seems to lay in the store bins instead of moving. I've observed that they concentrate more on new releases and we wait like forever on some of our favorite old titles.

The reasoning of how older movies are picked to be released in BR seems
an unfathomable mystery. Some of the most acclaimed movies ever made have yet to be announced.

Still waiting for Lawrence of Arabia, Grand Prix and The Deer Hunter.

Well, Grand Prix DID make it to high def, by way of the now discontinued HD DVD format. Transfer looked very good for a film made in 1966.

I have created a fanpage that people can "like" in order to petition the powers that be to bring Somewhere In Time to blu-ray. If and when we have a very large number of likes I plan to contact Universal about the page and request a high quality blu-ray transfer and/or restoration.

This film deserves the full Blu Ray treatment. The DVD quality is poor. Let's get it done!

it's coming out. you should email studios at their site. for instance if you want more vintage movies then do that. I emailed them all about 3d vintage blu ray titles. and finally screen archives twilight time is putting out 'man in the dark' 3d from 1953. shot in 3d! it is a limited edition. if you don't want to pay hundreds for this in a few years order your copy now. jan 21st. release date. blu ray.com has a link to it as well.
