Prometheus Lass,
Yes 80 last September. Sometimes I feel 45 but then I try to act like I'm 45 and reality sinks in. I can act like 65 though. So all is well.

What does?

I'm not a fan of nasty name calling and i particularly don't like misogynistic epithets. The Maher thing is just so much smoke and mirrors to make Rush seem like the poor abused victim he isn't. Sandra Fluke is nearly an innocent bystander in this.

Agapao says:
I like the verse in Romans that says, "for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things."
Rush attacks Fluke and the news says they are," venomous attacks" like a poisoness snake. So Rush is attacked being called venomous.
Rush attack is being called, "hate speech." Instead of being humorous, like a comedian, his speech is hate speech. Rush gives, "bizarre attacks." Implying he is crazy.
Come on you self righteous hypocrites. Rush is a radio talk show host. He is suppose to say hilarious and thought provoking remarks. This attack on Rush is nothing but hopeful political assasination of a talk show host who is also Republican. I think you should listen to Howard Stern for talk show reality. Rush is not the voice of God but is the voice of entertainment. Does he need a disclaimer prior to his show for all you stupid or self made retarded people. For all you slow brains, retarded means slow.

M. Galishoff says:
Medicaid - under 50 - sorry. And it does not cover mammography over 65. The newborn is not officially on the policy (at least when ours was born).

Well.

I hope that when I am 80, I can be 80 like you!

Yes.

Trenchant point, that, "hilarious"

Because Billy Conolly's section on why opera is 2/3rds too long is hilarious. Also his, "I can see Cleary's now the crane is gone" is hilarious. His discussion on aging, pretty funny too.

Calling someone a slut, a prostitute, and claiming that all women on bcp (which includes me thank you very much) who believe that bcp's should be insured should send him videos of all the sex we are supposedly having as payment in return for having--in my case at least--medically necessary insured bcp's---is NOT hilarious. Not in the slightest. Not even remotely.

If Rush wants comedy, he might actually speak to an actual comedian or two such as Billy Conelly, Cosby, Williams, Engvall, Foxworthy, Hicks, anyone who is actually funny.

M. Simonson says:
Rush is in a downward slide. Radio ratings are hard to figure out and a big mess, but there were stories about that a while back and I'm sure the pressure from the advertisers was the reason for this rare apology.

He is trying to capture his glory days of Rush-Ties Snapple and Dan's Bake Sale. At least he stopped picking on pony-tail-guy.

Things that make you go hmmmmm.

Does Rachel think liberal David Letterman should be taken off the air for making a vulgar crack about how during their visit to New York Sarah Palin's *14-year-old daughter* "was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."?

Or does Does Rachel think liberal MSNBC talker Ed Schultz should be taken off the air for calling Laura Ingraham a slut?

Does Rachel think Keith Olbermann should be taken off the air for saying conservative commentator S.E. Cupp should have been aborted by her parents? Or maybe taken off the air for the vicious anti-woman attack of calling Michelle Malkin a "mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick."?

Maybe it's ok to say those kinds if things about 14 year old little girls if your politics are the "correct" one with the left?

MDS,
Yes it is really hilarious and though provoking to call someone a slut. Wow. And to think I thought it was a slur, an insult. Silly me.

M Galishoff,
It would seem to be more economical to catch problems in the early stages. This doesn't seem sensible. Do you know if they pay for breast removal on women over 65 if they find out too late that they have cancer.

Macheath,
If we took them off the air, then maybe some would be more careful of the words that come out of their mouths.

I just find the hypocrisy on the left breathtaking. It's never *really* about a standard of decency with them, it's about silencing the speech of people who's politics aren't leftwing.

Macheath,
For me it's about a standard of decency in speech. Nevertheless I think Rush is no gentleman.

Here's what makes ME go "Hmmmmm..." Things I didn't say, such as last night when Macheath said I was defending Maher. I wasn't. Now all of this bilge...

M: Does Rachel think liberal David Letterman should be taken off the air for making a vulgar crack about how during their visit to New York Sarah Palin's *14-year-old daughter* "was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."?

R: This is a misrepresentation of the incident. It is post as fact on the Fox website, but it isn't. Letterman made the joke, by his own admnission, about Bristol, who was 18 years old at the time and already a poster girl for teen pregnancy. The right wing ginned up the story to close ranks around Palin, their golden girl. Comparison to Rush? Zero. Dave apologized the next day. Rush waited 3 days for issuing his tepid non-apology.

M: Or does Does Rachel think liberal MSNBC talker Ed Schultz should be taken off the air for calling Laura Ingraham a slut?

R: Schultz was taken off the air for a while. When he came back, he issued an apology immediately. Comparison to Rush? Zero. See above.

M: Does Rachel think Keith Olbermann should be taken off the air for saying conservative commentator S.E. Cupp should have been aborted by her parents? Or maybe taken off the air for the vicious anti-woman attack of calling Michelle Malkin a "mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick."?

R: He was, maybe not for those, but he's back on the air in either case. And how is this relevant to Rush, who is still on the air?

M: Maybe it's ok to say those kinds if things about 14 year old little girls if your politics are the "correct" one with Rachel?

R: Maybe it's okay to say such things when you have a chronic lack of familiarity with the truth. Where have I ever said that Rush should be taken off the air? I think it is appropriate that he is hemorrhaging sponsors right now, but he'll be back. An oxycontin smuggling charge couldn't keep him down. He survived having a prescription for Viagra in his possession without him being the person on the Rx. Given those drug charges, what is a little hate speech against 52% of the population?

Even assuming that wasn't after the fact spin by Letterman (since Bristol wasn't in NY at that time, 14 year old Willow was), you seem to think it's OK to make cruel ridiculing jokes about an *18 year old girl* on national television because she had the misfortune of having an unplanned child? Where is your compassion for an 18 year old girl? She never ran for a public office, she's no different than Obama's children. Is it ok to say cruel things about her because she's the child of a politician that you hate? Is that your standard of decency? All's fair with the children of republican politicians? The girl was 18 years old, a innocent child, as opposed to your Rush Limbaugh woman who is a 30 year old political activist.

seems to me that he thought america had become so depraved that his abhorrent attack would be excused and brushed under the carpet.

that his repugnance would have no consequences. there is hope for america as yet.

Macheath

Excellent points.
I'm not defending rush in this instance But the left's attacks on the right are equally if not more viscious and personal.
If they are only pointing in one direction, it shows they are a partisan and nothing more.
