Here is one of my all-time favs! I'm going to check out the youtube video link now.

Today Lyrics
Performed by Jefferson Airplane

Today I feel like pleasing you more than before
Today I know what I want to do but I don't know what for
To be living for you is all I want to do
To be loving you it'll all be there when my dreams come true
Today you'll make me say that I somehow have changed
Today you'll look into my eyes, I'm just not the same
To be anymore than all I am would be a lie
I'm so full of love I could burst apart and start to cry
Today everything you want, I swear it all will come true
Today I realize how much I'm in love with you
With you standing here I could tell the world what it means to love
To go on from here I can't use words, they don't say enough
Please, please listen to me
It's taken so long to come true
And it's all for you
all for you....

The House of Four Doors

"House of Four Doors" is one of the Moody Blues more complex recordings. The opening features each band member on their regular instruments, which includes Justin Hayward on acoustic guitar, John Lodge on bass guitar, Mike Pinder on the mellotron, Ray Thomas on flute, and Graeme Edge on drums. As the song progresses, more obscure instruments are used in addition to the regular instruments. The sections of the song are separated by the sound of a creaking door, which is provided by John Lodge on a cello. There is also a short harpsichord and cello duet towards the end of the song, which are played by Mike Pinder and John Lodge, respectively. The penultimate section of the song also features Mike Pinder on piano.

As the band has explained, each of the four doors that the group opens in the first part of the song reveals a different era of development in European music. The first, featuring a duet for acoustic guitar and flute, represents medieval minstrel music; the second, the harpsichord and cello duet, represents the Baroque style; the third, featuring mellotron and piano, represents classical music. The fourth door, which ends the track, is intended to represent modern rock music - which follows the opening of the door in the form of "Legend of a Mind."

Mystery spead it's cloak
Across the sky
We'd lost our way
Shadows fell from trees
They knew why
Then thru the leaves a light broke thru
A path lost for years lead us thru

House of four doors
I could live there forever
House of four doors
Would it be there forever?

Lonliness, the face of pilgrims eyes was known
As the door opened wide

Beauty they had found before my eyes to see
To the next door we came

Love of music showed in everything we heard
Thru the third door where are we?

Enter in all ye who seek to find within
As the plaque said on the last door

Close. soil and *water* below. sun and air above.

We need all four. The first two represent your physical and emotional being. The second two prepresent your spiritual and mental being. These are the 4 worlds. There are several supersensible teachings from the 4 worlds that immediately come to mind..."we need all four" means we know materially that without healthy amounts and quality of air and water our physical substrate will become brittle and weak. We need certain physical minerals and food-stuffs (earth) for optimal well-being. The sun is a source of the cycles that produce all of that on earth. The sun provides vitamin D through our exoskeleton...we can supersense these to show the correspondance of earth-soil-physical-plant-soul and water-emotions-grow-soul in the earth's soil (darkness) that we get air-mind-mental-harvest-soul and sun (fire)-spirit-light-soul (light).

Nova137 says:
fire, air, water, earth

fire = spirit

air = mind

water = emotions

earth = physical

When we see these things in life we can relate them back to the 4 worlds or "vehicles of expression".

So, when you say "the body dies and will be no more like my car," you are identifying with only one vehicle of expression (the physical). You have an emotional vehicle, a mental vehicle and a spiritual vehicle, too.

Correctly orienting your soul to recognize all 4 vehicles (not just the "physical") is the purpose of supersensible teachings. Learning the ropes (which is the creator, which the created, for instance) and then putting one's soul into a particular vehicle for expression is the spiritual purpose of learning, comtemplating and eventually understanding where you "live".

In the Bible water is spirit and fire is Lucifer (which could be considered incarnation or darkness or pain I guess).

Why do you say that I'm identifying with the body because I say that? I'm just stating a fact, it does not follow from that that I'm identifying with it.

Having said all that I do not fully know who Me is...other than perhaps the Fullness that I felt. I accept that Me (or "I") must express through DSC for now.

"Me" = "I AM" the Individual Divine Fragment (Monad) of the Great Central Sun. (That was a mix of DSC/Vedas/CUT/Bailey/Cut)

The other Newton (Liebnitz) used "monad" to represent our god self, btw. Schrodinger didn't like Liebnitz's "monad".

The context. You insist that BD recognize the spiritual hierarchy by making the death of the body into an event that points to "there must be a spirit that lives on" type argument. In my practice and understanding, we can make arguments like this when we've shaken the fear of death, misery, and untold suffering world-wide. If you've done that, pardon my mistake. If not, it is body consciousness without proper spiritual acceptance/understanding/experience. If this is the case, I would instruct you to look for those times when you are identifying with the temporal out of fear or "proof we must go on somehow" arguments.

Loosely. God can take any form. The attributes of God are infinite. I will add this to my Self. I remember ALF and Bryan pointing this out in the Love thread.

>water baptism popped into my mind. Methinks a sprinkle will not do.

No it won't.

Water in spiritual speak represents spirit /just don't ask me to define spirit in this sense/.

And while water represents the physical aspect. It doesn't represent the non-physical. Except insofar as the symbolism goes. And there we'd go into 'magic'.

Depending on which system you use their are more than 4 elements (or 5).....

Indian have the 5 Naga, Earth, Sir, Fire, Water and Spirit.

Western have the basic 4

Chinese have the 4 plus wood

Not sure where the metal comes from but it's out there......

just musings I guess

In the end, DSC, all we have is our training, experience and understanding. You've had some great teachers and have a profound one in ALF. Once those particular terms are understood in the context of your training, experience and understanding, they stick for the duration. Being able to incorporate other types of spiritual understandings is often just a matter of exposure or not. Its important if we want to dialogue with others better. We can dialogue without understanding if we have compassion and love instilled in us that sticks from our own training background.

I AM proud to call you friend and confidant! I've always loved your energy. It appears so innocent to Me.

DSC: You might even be able to say that each body is an aspect of Me.
N: Exactly. The I AM of the Great Causal Body "causes" a descent that is a creation event itself. The vibration is "stepped-down" to create a "space of consciousness" (this is the creation of the Causal body or "Mental" vehicle). This descent continues with the Subtle body (emotional vehicle where duality is felt). And, finally the final step-down in vibratory rate of "spirit" is the creation of the Gross Physical body (the physical vehicle).

All of them an aspect of your higher vibratory self.

A theosophist/anthroposophist background should put the student of it right where any other spiritual teaching will put its students, in the bosom of a spirit of trust and understanding of one's own self in relationship with the greater whole, no matter the names and labels.

I was very happy to learn that the four doors (I remember so well that door creaking open from when I was younger!) lead to the "periods of English music"! I remember noting how the Moody Blues infused their music with so many instruments (very orchestral in that sense overall), but didn't put 2 and 2 together until reading what I quoted above (which was from Wiki).
