5:15, in one of the verses Mick does say "spread like that."

Looks like Nugent might lead the pack on this subject. He always said that he was only addicted to one thing, and it wasn't drugs or alcohol.

doodah man says:
Jeremy Spencer, former guitarist with early Fleetwood Mac, was a member of "The Family/Children of God". There were many accusations of sexual child abuse and incest among "The Family" members.

Spencer sang this in his song "Cool Breeze":

"Chains, the world's wrapped us in chains
How can we let it hold us back from lovin'
Love, break those chains
And free us from the bondage we've known for years,"

The "Chains" were restrictions and laws against sexual relations with children, he being accused of having 'relations' with his own children.

**OINGO BOINGO**

Oh, oh, oh I love little girls
They make me feel so good
I love, little girls
They make me feel so, bad

When they're around
They make me feel
Like I'm the only guy in town

I love, little girls
They make me feel so, good

They don't care about my inclinations
They're not frightened by my revelations

Uh oh (uh oh), take a second (take a second)
Uh oh (uh oh), it's a mistake (it's a mistake)
Uh oh (uh oh), I'm in trouble (I'm in trouble)
Uh oh (uh oh), the little girl was just too little
Too little, too little, too little, too little

Isn't this what life's all about?
Isn't this a dream come true?
Isn't this a nightmare too?

And I don't care, what people say
And I don't care, what people think
And I don't care, how I look
When I'm down my street

They make me feel so--
I love, little girls

Yeah - I guess they were all perverted pedophiles. But I still like the songs

Although an age is not mentioned, the song Young Blood seems to be on the same vein...(things went bad, I met her dad, he said you best leave my daughter alone)

Sick Again by Led Zeppelin is about teenage groupie. Pete Townsend getting arrested for allegedly looking at kiddie porn on his computer. He went for the"Im researching to write a book" defense.

Working Man says:
I am not defending it, but I still think a lot of these songs are written for teenage boys and yes, it does sound creepy when the singer is no longer a teenager, especially when we're talking 13 and 14 years old. But their main audience is teenagers and they want their audience to relate to the song.

We also have to remember that a teenager can also be 18 or 19 and while depending on how old the singer is, there's nothing wrong with 18 or 19.

In any case, this is an interesting discussion.

Working Man says:
I have reached 50 and yes, of course I have no problem with pretty young women. However, the word 'women' is key for me. If I were single and at my current age of early 50's I certainly would be very happy to have a young woman, say in her early 20's, but not a teenage girl. Maybe I am in the minority, but I hope I would draw the line at teenagers. They are children still.

Svetlana, I would have to take that page with more than a grain of salt. The fact that it specifies which of the alleged pedophiles are Jewish, like it is an additional indictment, is enough to warrant a good dash or two, at least...

Hmmm, I also wonder if Pee Wee's "Mr. LaPage" was Jimmy Page?

And then there's Gary Glitter...

And Bill Wyman who started dating Mandy Smith at 13..married her at 19 when he was in his 60's..Priscilla Presley was 14 when she was dating the older Elvis..And we have Jerry Lee Lewis...And wasn't Cher about 16 when she started dating Sonny Bono in his early 20's?

Dudes like that young stuff.

J. Turner says:
thing is, way back then, things were different and it wasn't necessarily a crime to be after young girls. I'm not sticking up for any of them, just saying that's the way it was. Not that it did many of the girls any good - Mandy Smith apparently caught something nasty from Bill Wyman!

Pamela Des Barres can vouch for that theory......heh....

Antinomus says:
In spite of his tendency to sensationalize, millions does have a point in there somewhere. Really condemning sexual encounters or even fantasies involving individuals below the "age of consent" is a pretty recent development. I think that was brought on, largely, by sudden and graphic exposure of the public to the extreme perversity of certain individuals and groups, particularly the brutality of the underground sexual slavery trade. Of course, the media only smelled the money in covering such stomach-turning stories after they witnessed our willingness to be spoon-fed any coverage we could get of a handful of high-profile sex offence cases. The politicians got wind of this and immediately began trying to look like they were doing something.
Unfortunately, as often happens, we may have over-steered. People who are not aware of the case in my home state of GA still often find it incredible, when I mention the young man of 17 years was convicted of rape for consensual sex with his girlfriend, who was 15 or 16. Hardly an extreme age difference and hardly predatory activity. The young lady's mother even testified for the DEFENSE.
Sexual development is in the process of changing, radically, and it is going to be even more difficult for us to maintain a balanced look on the sexual behaviors of young people, who are, regardless of the "age of consent," actively seeking sexual encounters at very young ages(even with non-rock stars). It is going to be a tremendous cause of moral and political confusion in the not-too-distant future, I think.
