My latest food obsession has become Japanese Hot Pots. After a few months of Amazon flogging the cookbook linked below on my Kindle Store screen, I finally took a look at it and ordered it about a month ago. One of the best purchases ever. I'm a soup and stew, one-pot meal gal, anyway. But the Japanese hot pot dishes are just the best way to do this. Plus, if you cook at the table (I bought an induction burner), it is interactive and fun. All the actual work is in the prep and once you're cooking it's really fast, but then you eat leisurely with your family and friends.
Plus, it's got to be one of the healthiest cuisines on the planet. Lots of seafood, vegetables, tofu, sea vegetables, and virtually no added fat except in some meats used for sukiyaki and shabu-shabu. I made a seafood and chicken yosenabe last night and it was sensational.
This is fun cooking.
