I saw this on the Marty Stuart Show last night. They showed the one from when Kitty Wells was on in 2010. She ends up singing the last few lines of the song "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels". It was pretty cool in my opinion.

Kitty lived a long life. Never met Kitty but I knew her sister, sister-in-law and nephew(Jack Anglin's widow and son). Good people!

I had the relations mixed up in my previous post. The lady I knew was Louise Anglin, orginally Louise Wells, the sister of Muriel Wells aka Kitty who was married to Johnny Wright. Louise, Muriel and Johnny performed as a trio in the early days before Louise married Jack Anglin, and Johnny and Jack became a duo. Louise was a coworker when I worked in the mailing room of The Methodist Board of Evangelism here in Nashville in the early seventies. There were about ten of us who worked together. One day we were discussing the tragic deaths of several country stars in the sixties. I mentioned that Jack of Johnny and Jack was killed in a auto accident on the way to Patsy Cline's funeral. Louse said in a sad voice: ''that was my husband.'' I had no idea. I looked at her speechless and felt like crawling under the table. She assured me it was ok and that she understood I didn't know. She was a nice lady! She later introduced me to her son and we attended a concert together. Louise passed away quite a few years ago. I attended a tribute to Johnny Wright several years ago at The Ryman and was able to speak to his nephew again. I believe it was on Johnny's 90th birthday. He passed away almost a year ago just a month before his and Kitty's 74th wedding anniversary. I'm not sure now who the other lady I mentioned was. Her name was Ann. I was thinking she was Kitty's sister but I'm not sure now. I'll have to research.

Apparently the 'Ann' I knew was Famey Ann Deason, one of Kitty's two sisters who sang with her as The Deason Sisters before Kitty sang with Louise and Johnny. Deason, not Wells, was Kitty's real name. I dont know where 'Wells' originated. Although Louise used the last name 'Wells' while singing with Kitty and Johnny, she was Johnny Wright's sister, not Kitty's...so Louise was Johnny's sister and Jack's wife. WHEW!! I'm glad I finally got that straight. Lol.
