Engineer Gal says:
So V-smile now has a hand held version so we were trying to decide which to get our 5 and 6 year olds for Christmas.
The v-smile hand held or the Leapster.

My four and six year old have had their leapsters since last christmas and they both enjoy it very much. I don't know anything about the v smile pocket. I am getting my 6 year old a nintendo ds for christmas to replace the leapster. She is ready for something with more game choices and better graphics.
I would definitely reccomend the leapster for the age range of 3-6.
But maybe since your children are 5 and 6 you should get a game boy advance. They could keep it longer than they would a leapster.
I would not get them a nintendo ds because they are new to the handheld game.
But gameboy advance has many preschool and early learning games.
Hope this helped.

I'm wondering which to pick for my 4 year old daughter, too. She really likes the v-smile that hooks into the t.v. and I thought the pocket v smile would be practical because she could use the same games. But I've heard good things about the leapster too. HELP!!!
