I'm glad De La changed it to '....is Dead'. With the wilting daisy, and that title, its probably my favorite of all time (front cover and title).

'Pin the Tail on the Honkey'. HAHAHAHahaha. I want that written on the front of a T-Shirt, with a donkey tail on the back. I'd wear it.

Isnt the rejected Nas album title you're referring to a different album? the one that ended up as "Untitled" (2008)?

About Da lench Mob, how did they ever think that was going to work?

In reply to an earlier post on Sep 16, 2011, 11:27:20 PM PDT
No Real217, that was the original working title for "Hip Hop Is Dead", believe it or not.

I thought that it was well known amongst hip hop fans that Nas originally named his albums after the N-word twice. He also was going to name "Hip Hop Is Dead" under the title "The N"- and he got ridiculed for it in publications as well as over the internet numerous times.

Though I hate going to Wikipedia, they have the full story on his rejected album title for "Hip Hop Is Dead" and how it relates to "Untitled"- it's in the paragraph under "Title controversy". Here's the link:

Real217 says:
Oh i see, never knew, how come it wasnt really popular?

In reply to an earlier post on Sep 17, 2011, 3:08:48 PM PDT
At the time it wasn't popular because Nas made the decision to change the album title himself- mostly because the album didn't really deal with the issue of race whereas "Untitled" actually did. When he refused to change the title for the next album, that's when he started getting criticism from some folks in the industry as well as civil rights leaders.

Top5DOA says:
Cuz that word isn't socially accepted and therefore it'll receive too much controversy for it to actually be used. I have a blaxploitation movie called "Boss N****", but the cover just says "Boss" ... And this was back in the 70s ... It just doesn't fly.
