I would like recommendations like this book set in the last 19th century where an American heiress goes to England and marries an English aristocrat.

Well, there is always Edith Wharton's The Buccaneers which is an excellent book. It is the story of American 'nouveaux riches' young women whose families decide for varying reasons to take them to England to marry aristocrats.

If you are into the romance genre, you could post this question on that forum..there are lots of people who would be able to give you suggestions. I know that I have read romances with this theme, but I am having trouble coming up with titles. I will post again if I think of something.

Also, Paula Marshall wrote a wonderful book titled American Princess about a young woman from a wealthy family who, while visiting her uncle, the American ambassador in London, becomes interested in social justice issues. I really loved this book. It is a sequel to Wild Justice, but easily stands alone.

I was just going to recommend the Wharton book as well. I haven't read it yet, but it comes highly recommended.
