I'd like to limit this discussion to events that have happened after 1948 in the area we currently call the middle east, bordered by Egypt, Syria and Jordan.

Yesterday it was published that '20 settlers in Hebron told to quickly vacate building'. Today it was published 'Netanyahu urges delay in eviction of 100 settlers'.

Does anyone have more information than this? Like, how the number went from 20 to 100 in a day after being told by the Israeli military to leave the next day? Did the Israeli military make their request by phone so weren't there physically to prevent additional people from joining the 20?

Or is this just a power play among Netanyahu, the Defense Ministry and the Israeli military?

The area bordered by Egypt, Syria, Jordan AND Lebanon is called Israel, not the middle east.

And what happens within Israel's sovereign borders is none of your business.

Now do everybody a favor and get lost, Jezeera.

It really is nobody else's business. Israel's backers stole it fair and square.

Then its none of your business either is it, Diver?

The way the opening post was, "killed" says it all. Something to hide?

Posted on Apr 4, 2012 6:52:49 PM PDT
Maybe I was a bit quick to judge. Everyone who voted down the introductory post is probably an Israeli. Or maybe they are people who plan to move to Israel just as soon as they can afford passage. IF so, I beg your pardon. Maybe it is nobody's business but yours.

hi, left coaster!

I read in today's paper that the settlers were ejected. I wonder if Israel made provisions to prevent people from settling there in the future.

I also wonder if the writer really meant "Representatives for about 100 . . . settlers who were evicted vowed to return to the building."

Howdy anne,

I think Binny is having internal problems. Political problems. Internal dissent and a growing awareness that the whole world is watching.

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 5, 2012 7:04:25 PM PDT
anne says:
But hasn't the whole world been watching since 1948?

That is why you are called OLD. I think that type of dictum is senile!

Aluf B. says:

We were neglected as a small David until 1967. When Israel won, there was an incredible jubilation. Actually Life magazine of that time ended up with front picture which I still have and one framed, of an Israeli soldier with his Uzi. Wow now David became strong and defeated Goliath again! Cynisim re Goliath.

Then came Arafat, and that reptile started the tsunami of attention that has followed us in an indiscriminate way without judmgment, without sense without fairness.

That you anne the troll has started still another forum on Israel is to your discredit.

Time to rest, dear, take your medicines and think of Tibet, Darfur or any other troubled spot, like Syria or Kashmir.

Please all who read this can you let this forum die. The troll in residence started it.
All is not well when Amazonian then supports this troll.
NO need to answer to either.

Aluf B. says:

The Middle East misnomer is of the British, to distinguish it from the Far East. The real name is Asia, pointedly Asia Minor.
Now then anne can ask what skin are we, if we are Asians. Do we have Mongolian eyes, six toes?

anne says:
anne: <Netanyahu, the Defense Ministry and the Israeli military>

left: <there's a growing awareness that the whole world is watching>

anne: <hasn't the whole world been watching since 1948?>

Rachel: <Nope. We were neglected as a small David until 1967. >

anne: I admit I don't know how that changes the year in my comment that the world has been watching the Israeli government since 1948. Perhaps you need to refresh your memory as to the definition of 'watching'.

It's just the fact, ma'am.
They stole it fair and square, and the rest of us have been paying for that theft ever since.

Seems to me Oldie, you are amused by your own word games. It's also possible you are too old the coherently remember history as it is.
My opinion is that trolling and baiting in unfamiliar waters should always be rewarded. I think every troll should get the fish he is baiting for.

Kindly advise the masses here exactly what did the Jews "steal fair and square" and who did they steal it from.

I guess if they just saw people ejected, others wouldnt be in such a hurry to move in and face the same outcome.

patrick says:
is the whole world really watching?

shouldnt it maybe be watching Syria or a dozen other far bloodier conflicts?
or is the Left-eye blind to all that unhip butchery which isnt Zionist or American stuff?

as for internal political problems ...yes, thats a symptom of democracy .
Of course logically a middle-east democracy should by nature be far more tranquil and consensual.

Aluf B. says:

I hope you had a Happy Easter. Sadly, those hopes are immaterial in contrast to the hatred and disdain these troll have for Jews. Dontch'a know Jews steal in a stealth way. As if there no recognition in the society of nations.

Shall we talk about the Brits stealing and the Aboriginals, say Americans and the Mexican America War and Puerto Rico or Hawaii. The list can be expanded?

These are not even bleeding liberals, they are bloody trolls. Those are the facts patrick.

It is futile to expect anything else. They don't read, but can judge and therefore ready to hang Jews for their misdeeds. Right out of the Protocols and the notion of "I have been Jewed."

Words like legitimacy and legal, do not exist in their upside down world.

Let us finish this forum please.

Wait a minute we can't....anne will call other trolls to be here. Amen,Ahem, Achoooo......

So let us laugh at the content.

Hilarious. Syria claims Israel is Southern Syria, Palestine claims it's the other half of their country, Lebanon says it's theirs, Egypt talks about how they're the real owners, the Turks remember the empire, Hamas do their best to create their own little empire, and Israel says screw everyone, they're not moving again.

Everyone claims that land, why not let Israel have it? There would be conflict there no matter who claimed it, at least this way there's one less stateless people in the world. We're now down to Roma and hippies who wish they were stateless.

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 8, 2012 10:09:39 PM PDT
patrick says:
Since that...

"ownership, or custodianship, of that land has always been determined by force"
and that
No matter which way you un-occupy and re-occupy it, or which way you share it..
Will not bring peace there, will not make it either a more peaceful or more stable region, either the portion now labelled modern Israel, or the states surrounding it..
will not suddenly result in some miraculous gain in human-welfare or even in any overall gain in human justice there..

then yeah, sure, why concentrate so unevenly on what happens there or lobby for changing though you had really great attractive alternative models for the place.

J. Schwarz says:
Now that Israel is doing so well, has developed a major economy and has corporations lining up to put branches there, is there any wonder why these disfunctional states with no economy and industry covet Israel? The Israeli economy is better than all the surrounding countries combined. Before Israel was established the area was a third rate area with no industry and a mediocre economy. The Arabs want to go in, kick out the Jews and take over, the only problem is after ten years they will destroy everything the Israelis have done. Let them turn their own countries around but we all know that will never happen. They had 1300 years to get their act together and it will take another 1300 years for them to make progress.
