""I slit their throats," he testified at his trial, held near Cuernavaca. The teenager, called "El Ponchis" - the Cloak - was found guilty of torturing and beheading and sentenced to three years in a Mexican prison."

THREE YEARS????????????????
omg.

think he'll "reform"?

As long as the US demands, Mexico will supply.

RE: islam appears to have done nothing for him.

It hasn't. Whatever problems he has Islam has only exacerbated them, but, in all sincerity, I think that Jawwaad will work his way out of his present dilemma.

It's very hard to say. Many converts do leave islam when they find out how sick it is. But Jawwaad may be the exception. He likes the Kool-Aid.

63% See Conflict Between Islam and the West
Monday, May 14, 2012

Nearly two-out-of-three Likely U.S. Voters (63%) believe there is a conflict in the world today between Western civilization and Islamic nations, but most also think the United States should leave the Islamic world alone.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 18% of voters feel there is not a global conflict now between the West and Islamic nations. Another 19% are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters nationwide was conducted on May 10-11, 2012 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC.

I seem to recall that someone demanded proof of an Islamic threat:

Another far too typical example of raw Islamic anti-Semitism:

Why do you always have your undies in a bunch, Jawwaad? Is that a good way for a person to be?

Jawwaad,
I know. But it has dealt with organized crime pretty well in the past.
If the Cartels start operating openly here I think it will do just as well. I grew up in the inner city around druggies and gangbangers. A couple of long time friends and I once set down with our second grade photo and figured out that except for the four of us there were only a couple of other people out of the 35 that weren't either dead or in jail That will give you an idea of what my neighborhood was like.

Where do you think the majority of the drugs are coming from? Cartels operate openly here in America. It's that law enforcement can't handle it. Cartels are shipping their drugs to insiders here in America. They don't just give their drugs to random people and say "Here, go sell this". As for what neighborhood you lived in when you were young means nothing if you are not living it now. We have domestic terrorists living in our country now. These days, you have to worry about what color you wear so you don't get shot and killed by rival gang bangers.

John M. Lane says:
Life is about choices even in nominally Christian lands. Most of the criminals I knew were nominal Christians, or atheists.

Most of the cops I worked with were Christians. Although I always thought I was on the right side of things, I think our choices didn't really always reflect our Christianity. We had an active jailhouse ministry and it seemed to provide comfort to those doing time for their crimes. They seemed to know that they'd "done wrong" and I attribute that to their underlying Christianity.

I never saw anybody motivated to commit a crime because of his, or her, Christianity. I never worked in communities with Muslim, or Jewish, populations, however. I don't have any experience with criminal activity in those communities.

The only examples of attempting to co-opt Christianity into criminal activity involved the Ku Klux Klan, and a newer group, Christian Identity (white supremacists). They tried to distort Christianity so that it supported white supremacy. I'd seen "Positive Christians" attempt to do that, also. They were Nazis.

The IRA also tried hard to get support from the Roman Catholic Church for their terrorist activities. The Catholics refused. The Protestants also refused to support the Orange militias on the other side, except for a few discredited "pastors."

Criminals commit crimes. Christianity, insofar as I've experienced, teaches us to live together without violence or hatred. At least that's the ideal we're encouraged to work toward when we're told to love our neighbors as ourselves.
