It's very visceral when they're close. You really get the "impact" of each one, both literally and figuratively.

Anything with a large sandwich involved has got to be good.

Except maybe if you have to share it. That's just wrong.

Ah but that's not the case in any professional display. My brother does ours every year and I am shocked whenever I see him have ONE beer. We just can take it or leave it in my family, thank goodness!

We also shoot them into a cow pasture next door which mitigates much chance of doing damage to anyone's property. I do, however, keep several fire dept members on hand at each party in case I set fire to my own house.:)

I like pro displays.

But in this city, if it's illegal, the morons and illegals have them.

Not safe by any means.

Yeah, it's a completely different experience from watching from miles away.

*cough* it's illegal here, too, rec. There are stupid people everywhere, even where it's legal. But not everyone blowing off fireworks is stupid and dangerous. Just the ones in your back yard, apparently. ;)

I didn't get it. I stayed in watching IT and made pasta. Just didn't feel like going out.

My area got hit with bad weather tonight. Hard rain with warnings of thunder, 60-mile gusts, and hail! And I'm such an angel: I thought of the people that were out there watching fireworks and LMAO'ed!!!

We call them subs out here, too, btw. We call them hoagies, grinders, subs, and a few idiots in Westchester County call them wedges. How'd they come up with that one?

I hope everyone had a good holiday!
Marc, I don't stick my nose into too many things, just what my friends are reading.
(so I guess I'm safe from the ice floe for now!)
Speaking of which, have you had a chance to start Pressure?

I saw that on the Twilight Zone marathon but had to get a lot of schoolwork done so I had to pass. But they are all streaming on Netflix so I can see them anytime. Always classic!

He was never caught. Sherlock Holmes was a brilliant detective, who never failed. It was inevitable that their paths would cross. They do.
