If you are going to post a youtube, please mention what it is about, like the artist, so I won't waste my time on things that do not interest me.

Susan,
You may enjoy this 45 minute 1998 Maynard Ferguson interview. I just bought his album Maynard Ferguson Octet the other day and enjoyed this vid. Maynard was a sweet guy with a great sense of humor. The interviewer seemed to be a bit of a dead fish... My take, anyway.

One of most poignant Jazz songs performed... ever. Mose Allison. I don't worry about a thing.

This is one of the most exquisite pieces in the history of jazz. This should be part of every grammar school curriculum. Any jazz fan who can't relate to this piece should have his diggin' credentials revoked!

I don't know why musicians are always so down on nuclear war. Personally, I think its one of the best methods to get the job done quickly and cleanly. The alternative, bring the unit into your town to burn, pillage, rape, loot, demolish and trample every form of decency for a few years.... or decades... As a one-time grunt, I always favored dropping the a-bomb. Save me the time and effort of dragging all of that equipment around in some god-forsaken third world lice pit. Keep my fatigues clean so I am ready for the Victory parade.

You know, it's gonna happen. Everyone acted surprised by 9/11. I wasn't. I just wondered why it took so long. How does a third world country fight a superpower. Their only alternative is terrorism. There are at least a half-dozen nuke countries, including Pakistan. How hard would it be for terrorists to get that kind of a weapon from Pakistan? And how long will it take?

Here For the Music,
wow! this music is eerie, chilling. It sounds like classical music to my ears, with electronics instead of the usual instruments.

Here for...

I haven't heard Klaus in a looong time. Though I don't consider his solo/collaborative works a part of the jazz idiom, his music is pretty interesting. My first intro was in the early 90's the song "Nachtmuzik Schattenhaft". Similary to the clip you posted by a ghostly woman's voice periodically breaking in with one word "Mark".

Lisa Gerrard, sensational vocalist from the unit "Dead Can Dance" worked with Schulze. If only opera sounded more like this....

Good call Spartacus. We don't want to get nuked of the Jazz forum.

By the by, what territory did Buckley lord over? A back alley, low down smokey one would be my guess. With cheap drinks to boot.

For anyone who wants to know what the young jazz cats from Norway are doing, here are some videos from a recent two night mini festival. Recorded in HD with soundboard audio. The kb player (a friend of mine) is unfortunately not in the frame most of the time:

Nitya,
The High Def audio made my portable, little Harman Kardon player sound like a million bucks.

I very nearly bought the album Life in Leipzig (Ocrd) tonight. Hope I don't regret it tomorrow.
