After doing a hard reset there is a search (go to) bar at the top of the screen that won't go away? How do I get rid of it?

Are you sure you did a hard restart, or did you just turn it off and back on? To force a reboot, you need to hold the slider over for 30 seconds, and you will see the picture of a boy reading under a tree and a progress bar
