Okay, so I just talked to support a bit ago and this is what I was told.
When you "buy" a kindle version movie, the actual file is encrypted and cannot be found on the kindle by browsing the directory structure. Personally, I am more inclined to believe that there is a hidden partition where these files are stored, but the result is that you cannot access the actual movie file. So, you can "watch" the movie on the kindle, or you can "watch" the movie from a browser on a computer, but you cannot access the file, move the file, etc.
The problem is simply this. What if you have to terminate your web access at home, and then your kindle breaks. How do you access your movies? Or say you are in a tight spot financially and need to cut back on bills, so your internet has to go. You place as many movies on the kindle as will fit, but the rest must stay up in Amazon's cloud. But, with no web access, how the heck do you access these movies that you supposedly paid for?
Really, is there no way to just gain access to the file for the movie?
