Todd Snider says:
Is it possible to transfer audio playlists to and from Kindle Fire?
What file format does Kindle Fire store playlists in, and where does it store the playlist file (it doesn't appear under the Music directory)?

A. Dietz says:
If you use the Amazon Cloud player you can set up play lists that are accessible from your Kindle Fire, and any device with the MP3 player installed or with access to the web. For example, I have about 7,000 MP3 songs loaded on the Cloud Player, with a number of different play lists set up. I can have one play list streaming songs on my PC in the family room, another streaming songs on a different play list through the android app on my phone connected to my stereo in the living room, and another play list playing songs on my Kindle Fire that's offline but has the songs downloaded to it that my grandson is listening to. All of the play lists are accessible to all of the devices logged in to the account.

But does anyone know where the playlists are stored on the kindle itself?

Well since there's been no response to this question in over a year and a half, I would guess not, or nobody else thinks it's important.

i would love to know this too... i am upgrading from 16gb to 32gb and don't want to have to manually recreate all my music playlists onto the new kindle, but I sure can't find any other way...

I read a post elsewhere that said the playlists are stored in the cloud (even if the play list is for music stored locally on the device). I also checked my SD card for any files that looked like a play list and couldn't find any (but couldn't check the internal storage)
