"silk browser" not working!

Did you reboot the Fire by holding down the power button for 30 sec?

It worked the third time I tried it. :-) Especially after I unplugged it from the charger.

1.    Tap the Quick Settings icon from the Home screen and select More.
2.    Tap Applications and filter by All Applications.
3.    Press the image of the Browser app and tap Clear Data.

Have tried more than once to do that quick trick of clearing data and I still get error message that says "not responding do you want to wait or close"??

This is what worked for me. Make sure your battery is fully charged and your disconnect from charger.

Is there another browser that we can use. Silk is locking up every time I try to use it, and I hate Bing which seems to be a default.

ETA: The Dolphin browser works for me.

Click "Kindle Forum" to get back out to the main page, then use the search box over -----> there and type in "install Dolphin". Find what looks to be a fairly recent-dated thread and follow the instructions.
