Is there some way to archive the books that have been read into a separate Library list ? Also how does one delete the sample book that remains on the list after the book has been purchased ?

R. Nelson says:
James - In your cloud archive there is no way to group books. People use different techniques to remind themselves of what books they have read. Some add a note to the book, use the site to track your books (it is different from the manage my kindle page), third party sites like or Amazons or even a spreadsheet.

To permanently remove a sample that you no longer wish to keep:

1. Go to the "Manage My Kindle" page here on Amazon
2. Search for the book
3. Click on the Actions button, and select "Delete from library"
4. Steps 1-3 removes the book from your archive. You will also need to remove the book from your device

Hi James! R. Nelson has some good suggestions. I use my Kindle to house my unread list. I send every book I purchase to my Kindle. Once I've read it then I delete it off my device. Of course the book is still available to me in the cloud but I know if it's no longer on my Kindle then I've already read it. Basically I use my Kindle as my "to be read" list. (although I might check out the site that R. Nelson suggested)

To delete a sample you just need to remove it from your device. Select the sample (how depends on which Kindle you are using) and then select remove from device.

That isn't correct Kyle. Samples are not stored in your archive, so they don't show up in Manage Your Kindle.

You need to delete the sample from the Kindle itself. How to do that depends on the model Kindle in question.
