I just spent a lot of time working with a Verizon representative in an attempt to get my verizon email to work on my Kindle. He informed me that he found several posts in which people mentioned the same problem with other ISPs, also. What's the deal?

The deal is they had the same problem.
Of course, not knowing what the problem was, we cannot help you to fix it.

Verizon password okay. When I hit "DONE" after everything apparently set OK the incoming and outgoing mail server ports to which the Kindle defaulted did not correspond with what the Verizon tech told me to use. When I pluggd in his numbers the Kindle just sat there and thought about it. The Kindle tried to get me hooked up to Verizon again using the default port setings but without success.

Additional email problem description...I sent 2 test emails to my Kindle from my computer, both addressed to my Yahoo account - one using my Verizon account and the other using my Yahoo account. Both went thru on my Yahoo account and I picked them up.

Does this app integrate with Verizon or is it a whole new email system?

It's simply an alternate email CLIENT app. It uses the same Verizon email server.

Thanks for the info.

I have now downloaded K-9 Mail (probably incorrectly) and am having problems sending my first test email. I've managed to save a draft but I cannot find the "send" command. I need guidance.

Please disregard my last post. K-9 is now working fine.

My turn to post a problem with K-9 email. I can no longer find a window which lets me add contacts to my K-9 email. This after doing so successfully after first downloading the app.
