Whispersync two out of three devices only?

We are getting my daughter a Kindle (old style) for Christmas, and I do not want her to have access to our Kindle library that we're currently using on an iPad and iPhone.

Is there a way to enable Whispersync for two out of three devices only?

Thanks!

No. Every Kindle registered to the account will have access to all the compatible content owned by the account.

Some Kindles have parental controls that can lock out wi-fi access. You can also download books, then have your daughter's Kindle forget the wi-fi password. Or you could establish a second account for your daughter's Kindle.

Which Kindle are you getting her? By "old style", do you mean e-ink?

We have a password on the Wi-Fi access. She's six. We got her this one: Kindle, 6" E Ink Display, Wi-Fi (Previous Generation - 5th)

Because it isn't backlit and she reads in bed (pediatrician said backlit can mess with circadian rhythms and make it harder to sleep; seems accurate in our experience), so we got her the case with little reading light. I was just hoping there was a way to keep it tied to my account for easier purchasing, but still let me switch between iPhone and iPad when I'm reading. It's a pain to find my place.

Ah well, thanks anyway! :)

Actually all Kindles now being sold have parental controls.

Oh, that's right - they did update the KKs. Thanks for the reminder! ;-)

You can enable parental controls, which will prevent her from downloading books. She may still see the titles of the books, but won't be able to download them.

You can still sync your books - since she's not reading them, your location in the books won't make her loser her place.
