Sunfun, is your friend in the USA and did your friend get the Kindle from Amazon.com or a store in the USA? If so, the number Colleen gave you is good.

I think the best way to contact Kindle Customer Support when you have a computer available is

http://www.amazon.com/kindlesupport

You should see a

Contact Us

button on your right. You can then call them or have them call you.

I recommend that method because they know who you are when they answer the phone, which can expedite things considerably.

I realize your friend may not have a computer available, though.

LOL - a lot of people must have trouble finding the contact phone number! The person in the ER called back and I was able to give her the phone number - she only had her cell phone with her and was not close to her computer. Thanks for all the help.

Thanks so much for posting the number. I had an issue with smeared ink, just called the number and they are sending a replacement. CS was wonderful and just asked that I return my current Kindle.

Terry, you might want to start a new thread instead of tagging your question on to a thread on a totally different topic. You'll get a lot more attention that way. There's a "Start a New Discussion" box at the bottom of the list of threads on the first page of this forum.

@skipper: Use some of the following information: Click Help (near center at top of new Amazon page; upper right on old pages). Click Kindle (left column) or Kindle Help & Tools in the middle. Click Contact us (right column). Or you can go to http://www.amazon.com/contact-us

You can also give them a call at:
U.S. and Canada: 1-866-216-1072
Kindle Support: 1-866-321-8851
International: 1-206-266-2992

Or, they will call you back if that facility is enabled for your country. You leave your info at: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/contact-us/kindle-help.html?ie=UTF8 - you must leave your landline phone number if you live outside the U.S.A., Australia or New Zealand. This works really well.

@skipper: You can't if it is an e-ink Kindle.

Colleen,
Thank you for the telephone number. I spent 15 minutes looking on the Amazon site.

Anyaj, you have to be calling from the U.S. for that number to work.

The best way to contact CS is the way Bufo Calvin stated in his post above yours.

Click on https://www.amazon.com/kindlesupport, then click on the Contact Us button.

Have you been calling this number? International: 1-206-266-2992

If you have, just go to https://www.amazon.com/kindlesupport, click on the yellow Contact Us button, and choose the Chat option.

South Africa is not one of the countries that can use the call me option.
