I called kindle support about an issue and the first thing she asked was if I cleared the cache file. I said no because I really do not know how to. Long story short she had me reboot the device, so I'm not sure if that was meant to clear the cache file, or take care of something else as I lost track and never asked her.

Also, does clearing the cache also clear the cookies?

thanks for the support!

Under silk, click the menu icon (the group of several parallel bars) and you can see all the settings, including buttons for clearing history and cache.

Under this menu I see only the button for history, then an option to clear that. Does clearing the history also clears the cache? Thanks!

That clears browsing history, cache etc for Silk or internet browser only. i also use another browser on my tablet so clear that one on regular basis too. How do you clear full cache on tablet? This is for apps etc. On my phone it's located in main settings but Amazon fire settings has limited options.
