Leo, so glad you popped up for air in time to see the note about Monday!

I'm starting to get excited about it now! Good books, good people, good conversation - what's not to like?

I have been reading and the spread Bilbo ends up putting on for tea when he is expecting (just) Gandalf should make a great opening feast for the book club:)

OK, I'll change my earlier comment.

Good books, good people, good conversation, good food - what's not to like?

:-)

OK, here's a tentative schedule. I've gone on the premise of one chapter each weekday, with weekends off, beginning tomorrow. If so, we would finish on Thursday, April 12. When SEP opens up the new thread, I'll post dates and chapter titles, but assume we start with chapter 1 tomorrow. SEP, is that to read tomorrow or discuss tomorrow?

Hi, Nisi -

We'll start reading tomorrow. I know that several people have already jumped in, but they're just gonna have to wait! We'll start reading tomorrow and the discussion will begin on Tuesday.

I hope so. That'll give people(me) a chance to catch up if need be. :)

Sounds like a plan to me. I can't believe how excited I am to read a childrens' book for the umpteenth time...

I've only read it once. I'm going to start this morning at the dog park. With my KK3G, I can download it out there. I love that! :)

Yes, if you can work that out, O Lady of the Spreadsheet and Calculations. Weekends off would be good for those of us with lives outside of Middle-earth.

*snicker* With one chapter a day and a calendar in front of me, I bet even I, feeble-minded worm that I am, can figure out a schedule, lol. Want me to post it here, or are you going to open a new thread?

"lives outside of Middle-earth" - what does that mean?

live outside of Middle Earth, what kind of talk is that??? SEP, please remember, my main man, Faramir lives in Middle Earth.

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 18, 2012, 4:31:43 PM PDT
<rolls eyes>

Poor Faramir will be SO glad when the bevy of crazy females moves on to a story that happened long before he was born so he has a few minutes peace!

I'm going to open a new thread first thing tomorrow morning, so you can post it then.

And people who do not have lives outside of Middle-earth can read ahead on weekends.

*I* plan on spending *my* weekends in Ithilien with *my* main squeeze...

This thread and the Hobbit thread died of natural causes 4 months ago. Can't they be allowed to rest in peace?

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 12, 2012, 5:25:05 PM PDT
They were resurrected for a specific purpose, for someone new to the forum and interested in the subject to read. They were bookmarked for that person. Please do not contribute to the (known) confusion resurrecting them will cause bu posting additional messages - let them fall off the first few pages.
