It's no different on an iOS device. I bought a few Angry Birds games for my iPhone only to find out that I could download the games to my iPad as a smaller version on the screen or pay for the iPad version. That being said there are lots of free apps out there that are an abbreviated version of the full apps that you may be happy with.

Keisa,

No one here knows the answer to your question. A major sticking point is the license fees for digital content in various countries. In some countries they are so high that Amazon cannot make what it considers to be a reasonable profit on the sale of digital content.

Im a new user of the kindle hd and I love it. However, because my country ( The Bahamas) is not in the geographical area/ boundaries, I am not able to download any apps, games, videos, music whether free or paid...when will that change?

I didn't think I said anything nasty other than mentioning how rude and nasty everyone is in this thread.

And that was pretty rude and nasty.

I'm with you Kessa. I work in a call center and we are constantly monitored. It is highly doubtful that an Amazon CS associate said any such thing.

In other words - I too call BS on her claim and on the usual claptrap about how we have no lives, eat junk food blah blah blah since she didn't hear what she wanted. Doofus.

Edited to add second paragraph

It is so funny to hear you complain about someone berating someone.

Deanna says, "You guys have so little in your lives that you have to come entertain yourselves by finding fault with somebody, anynody but yourselves.. it is really very sad. Your lives must be incredibly unfulfilling. You probably sit in your pajamas chowing down on whatever junk food you can shove in your mouths and dream of being a real person (lol, maybe you dream of being an imaginary person.. from some of your sign ons, it's pretty obvious that is closer to the truth)"
You might be on to something here. But,
"This new Fire is a Joke if you are actually believing the crap Amazon put out and ordered one, you don't have to sit and suffer with an obviously less than adequate tablet.. there are many many choices in the same price rance that *will* be able to accomidate you very nicely. Don't fall for the propiganda line!"
I think you gave out fair warning with your first post, but it seems to me that most people who buy their Fires and FireHDs are more than satisfied with their purchases. I am with mine. My Fire actually better than what I expected. Of course not everyones expectations are the same. Do you understand that some of the people that are piling on in their attacks on you don't hare a FireHD and are just joining the pack in a feeding frenzy?

Thank you! My gaming life is now complete.

Edit: Oops. Not complete yet. For me, it still shows up as not compatible.

Even though she was the OP, I hereby award Deanna the AHFT Award of the DAY! (in her case it would be Ms. AHFT)

WOW what a bunch of nasty and rude comments in this thread.

And you just couldn't resist adding another nasty and rude comment? Yeah, you think you are the only one allowed to voice their opinion, but the rest of us are nasty & rude. Guess what, you are just as rude & nasty as you claim others to be.

WOW what a bunch of nasty and rude comments in this thread. If I was Amazon I would delete the whole thread. That being said, I have had my Fire HD for awhile now and when I run into an app that is not compatible I send a email to the developer and they usually have it fixed within 48 hours.

Ok, Nospin, I'm sorry, I haven't read all the messages in this thread. Is the problem with Scrabble limited to the 8.9" version? I'm a Scrabble addict. and it's working fine on my 7" Kindle Fire HD?

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012, 9:50:48 PM PST
Scrabble is now appearing in my cloud.

No they don't notify you. But apps you've purchased that previously didn't show up in the cloud, are suddenly available when they've been updated. I just check, every so often.

Yes you automatically have an updated version appear under the App Cloud on the device.
No Scrabble yet.

Somebody says:
Do you automatically receive an updated version? I deleted my Scrabble app from my library because it wouldn't work on new Fire, so now I'll be kicking myself if that's what you meant.

Lies, ignorance and lack of intelligence...sounds like a creditable consumer to me. I wonder if they even have as many kindles as they say they do. Apparently they just have money to waste and don't think before they buy. I personally do research before investing my money in such things. Any business unfortunately has to deal with people like her, I feel bad for the rep that has to take that call.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012, 5:51:28 PM PST
I just look at my apps page in cloud and see what has shown up recently.

One cool thing you can do on the HD is hold an app icon and totally delete it from the cloud. Handy if you have the free version of something and then got the paid version- you can get rid of the free versions right from the Fire HD.
