You responded to a 5 year old post --when you could not watch amazon videos on ipad. And you are right you can now.

You cannot access the KOLL (Kindle Owners Lending Library) with an app on a non-Kindle device.

However, through your local library you CAN borrow books if they participate in elending. You might want to look at their website to see if that feature is offered.

You understand wrong. The Prime lending library books only work on actual Kindle devices, not apps.

How do I get to the lending library, I have the Kendal app on my iPad and I understand it works by transfer via the cloud also provided for by amazon but I can't find the library of books

I wouldn't cancel Netflix for prime at his juncture, as Netflix has way more movies and shows and seemingly gets new seasons of shows before amazon (like ABC shows).

Tabbyrose says:
Yep. I just tried the AmazonPrime App for Ipad and I can watch movies. Works just like Netflicks. Esentially, i could cancel Netflix and save $8 per mo. Sorry but I can't try Prime For books until tomorrow. We've been reading those on our Kindles.

They weren't available when the post you're replying to was made.

And you'd have to ask them, not other customers.

Was there an amazon video app for the iPad available when the person above you commented in March? Maybe they work now, but didn't work then.

I am sorry to disagree but amazon prime videos o work on iPad. If they make one available why not the other?

Worth adding that Amazon videos -- Prime or otherwise -- don't work on the iPad either.

No. Books downloaded from the lending library only work on Kindle devices, not on apps.

C. Myers says:
So one would download a book from the lending library from a kindle, then would it be available on the iPad?

You're welcome.

I read the link info before I asked the question. I didn't realize Prime was the primary program and the Kindle perks were some of the benefits. Thought the service was a Kindle driven service. Thanx for clarifying that for me.

Woodard - Prime is a free 2-day shipping service Amazon provides. It has the perks of the Lending Library and Free Streaming Videos for selected movies and TV shows. It is not something you download. It is a service you subscribe to.

The Lending Library will not work on an iPad or any other app. It only works on actual Kindles.

To learn more about it I suggest you go here to read more about the program.
