For things like this, I think I would open my own "secret" account just for those books I didn't want others on the account to be aware of. If you have an e-ink Kindle, you can deregister it from the shared account, download the book/s from the secret account, then re-register it, all without losing any books. (The Fire, however, does not work with this).

It's convoluted, but if your Kindle is an eink version, you can open a second account and purchase the book. Deregister the Kindle from your account and register it to the second account and download the book and then re-register to your original account. That way the book will be on your Kindle only.

Afraid not. Sorry. All Kindles on an account have access to the same archive group. So even if you sent it only to your own Kindle at purchase, it's possible one of the other users on the account could download it from the archives via their own device.

Out of curiosity, I can understand you not wanting your 13 year old to read it. But what would be the problem with your MIL (a grown woman) reading it if she wanted to?

And, at this point, there is no way to block individual books simply (you could do the register/deregister method for your daughter, but I'm thinking that you MIL may not like that).

I want to purchase Fifty Shades of Grey. However, I have 5 kindles all on my Amazon account, including my 13 year old daughter and my mother in law. Is there any way that when I buy this book they won't be able to access it?
