When I am ordering and giving an address in India, I am getting a message that Kindle Paperwhite cannot be shipped to the selected address. However I am able to order for the Paperwhie cover.

The links work for Norway. Thank you, finally! =)

I use a US credit card, but I have my country and address set to France and it works just fine - I'm presuming you didn't change your country setting to whichever Scandinavian country you're living in. The only problem you might run accross is that making a lot of downloads via wifi outside your "Country" could trigger a prove you live where you live letter from Amazon. I have the 3G Paperwhite and Touch.

I have my country set to france so I can take advantage of more books in French plus access to a lot of British publishers (their prices can sometimes be cheaper than US prices, but it can be the other way around too)

May I ask a question that is similar but not directly related to the above? My main CC on file, address on file etc with amazon that is associated with my current Kindle is in the USA, though I live and work in Scandinavia.

If I have a paperwhite delivered to my US address and get it sent on to me here in Norway, are there any ramifications about downloading books whilst I'm living and studying abroad or will it be 'business as usual' as I have it with my current kindle?

I'm most interested in not upsetting my current status quo, because I'm happy with the way things function with my old kindle.

Sorry if there's another place that I should be asking this question, but I've made a pretty thorough search and can't find anything more directly applicable to my situation (which CAN'T be all that unique... there must be many many thousands of people with US based CCs and addresses living and working in Europe)...

he/she'll be able to get one from the links I posted - the special offers ones are not available outside the US

No, thats not it, I live in Norway and I ordered on the 24th and my paperwhite is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. It's currently on its way from Oslo to my town.

CBRetriever says:
you have to select the international versions:

Kindle Paperwhite 3G, 6" High Resolution Display with Built-in Light, Free 3G + Wi-Fi [Previous Generation]

Kindle Paperwhite, 6" High Resolution Display with Built-in Light, Wi-Fi [Previous Generation]

if you don't see the select your country menu, it isn't an internationally available kindle

It sure is! I just ordered my Paperwhite. As expected, the price is nearly doubled when ordering internationally - you can't order the $119 version with special offers, only the $139 version. For me, shipping is $31 (only one shipping method available - "AmazonGlobal Priority Shipping"), and "Import Fees Deposit" is an extra $55, for a whopping total of $225. Still worth it in my opinion.

I just hope the screen is okay because I don't think shipping several replacements internationally is viable.

I was very surprised to see them released that early in the international stores and I got mine just before the French store ran out (next shipping date for them is Feb 1st)

@CBRetriever: Well, what is normal? Your probably right that it used to be about a half year waiting time for previous devices. But for the paperwhite, the device was released about 1 month for UK and 2 months for other international stores, after the US release. So for those countries having international stores (Germany, France, UK, Italia and Spania) this is probably not an issue. Unfortunately not every country has an amazon store and we don't know when/if the device will ship to those countries.

CBRetriever says:
it was exactly the same for the Kindle Touch which was released about 5 months after the US release, so it seems normal to me

btw, the international market was able to buy those before they were available in the international stores - there was a the week wait until I could get one from the French store

I live in Spain. Ordered from Amazon.es. Given a delivery date of 30 Jan, then changed to 14th. It was delivered today (10th) I am happy :)

Ah, lame :(

Still ETA? Is this usual for Amazon or shouldn't we expect to see this in Europe at all?

G. NOME says:
@Bergersen; no you'll need to buy from another seller.

same reply I gave a few posts back

plus the Kindle Touches weren't released until March/April internationally, so that's a likely target date to plan on

Does anyone know when the Kindle Paperwhite will be released for Australian buyers. My previous kindle recently died after 2 years and I want to get a new one but I figure I should just wait for the Paperwhite to be released internationally.

I just turn on the wireless and wait - eventually it will go to 3G - also, I've never connected mine to wifi, so it doesn't try to connect
