What do you mean, you hit "cancel." You cannot cancel a digital order because they are instantaneous. What you can do is immediately go to your MYCD, find the book, and click the button to the left and choose the,"refund" option.

Diana, you'll need to contact CS.

Amazon doesn't regularly monitor this discussion forum.

But yours was so much better. I used the old time limit, although I once successfully returned a book more than a month later, due to formatting issues.

Thanks for the tip about deleting a book purchased from the Kindle.

Just deleting the book from your Kindle will not avoid a charge for buying it.

Contact Kindle CS and let them know you accidentally purchased the wrong book. If it is within 7 days of your purchase, they'll refund the purchase price--no questions asked. I think that Amazon will also automatically remove the title from your Kindle, but if not, you should delete it.

Here is a link to the Kindle CS page: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/contact-us/kindle-help.html?ie=UTF8&nodeId=200127470&email=griffsmom%40cox.net&type=&token=

You can have Amazon Kindle CS contact you by phone or email--your choice. I think there are some phone numebrs floating around this forum if you want to speak with CS right away; I just don't happen to have them handy. I'm sure someone else does though and will be nice enough to post them.

One other note: If you accidentally purchased the book on your Kindle (as opposed to your computer) the info page for the book (5-way click down to book title; right click to go to book info page) will have a link that says something to the effect of "Bought this book by accident?" and you can click it and the book will be immediately removed and a refund issued within a day or so.

ETA: I see dorsie and John posted the phone numbers while I was still typing my response. :)

You can return the book within 7 days of purchase. Contact Amazon's Kindle CS and ask them about it. You can use the Help link at the top right, and at the bottom, of every page on the Kindle area of the website. Then click on the large orange Contact Us button on the right. Or you can use the following:

Inside the United States: 1-866-321-8851
Outside the United States: 1-206-266-0927

Or, they will call you back if you leave your info at:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/contact-us/kindle-help.html?ie=UTF8 - you must leave your landline phone number if you live outside the U.S.A., Australia or New Zealand. This works really well.
