"ET phone home" is a reference to the 1982 movie by Steven Spielberg. I saw the movie 3 times in the theater. Anyone under age 30 may never have seen it.

The movie might have been different if ET had a Kindle Fire in 1982!

I contacted Kindle Support at Amazon via e-mail.The techs there want to to discuss the app issue over the the phone since there's some trouble shooting involved.I also found out through Amazon's trouble shooting page that developers sometimes have what's called a DRM(Digital Rights Management) on their applications to ensure that my account still has the licenses for the apps I'm(in this case,my friend's)trying to use,so my friend will need a wifi connection in order to use the apps.My guess is that the developers do not recognize the location where my friend is thru the DRM since the Kindle Fire is registered in my name and not his. Thanks for your help.

Connect to WiFi and make a connection with the developer of the app.

I bought a Kindle Fire tablet for a friend over the Christmas holidays.Since then he's been having problems playing simple game apps like Angry Birds,Cut The Rope, and even Solitaire on the device.A pop-up window keeps showing up telling him that he has to be connected to the Internet when I know these games can be played off-line.I even took the Kindle home to see if I the games played off-line after re-installing them and they worked fine.My friend doesn't have wi-fi so I have to keep re-installing the games for him every time he has this problem. The same thing happens with his Rhapsody
application.Down-loaded songs aren't playing off-line.The same pop-up message shows up.Any suggestions out there because I'm completely at a loss here.

I always find it easer to register on my PC and then sign into the app(s) with the account info. YouVersion has great CS.

Try the app called Biblereader by Olive Tree. The application has a feature called Verb Chooser where you simply tap the book, chapter, and verse to get to the scripture you are searching. It's very simple.Try it.

Thank you. We are now trying to register for the Bible app and get an account, but we never get the account verification e-mail. We have to click on that e-mail to finalize things. After three tries, we wrote to customer service and they say they will respond in a day or so. I appreciate your taking time to answer my question. I hope we can get it to work.

Take a look at the Bible app. Easy to use and includes several versions to choose from.
