While looking at a paperback book, the price was $7.99. I then went to look at the price of the kindle book (same book) and it was over $10.00. This doesn't make a lot of sense to me and was wondering if anyone knows why this is?

A. Which book? I ask because people often compare the ebook price to the price of a paperback that hasn't even been released yet.
B. google agency model
B1. Amazon can discount physical copies of books but cannot discount their electronic counterpart if it's published by any of the big 6 publishers (Hachette, Random House, Penguin, Macmillan, HarperCollins, and Simon and Schuster).

That does make sense, even if its sad to me. The book is by Mercedes Lackey, Foundation: Book One of the Collegium Chronicles (A Valdemar Novel) (Valdemar: The Collegium Chronicles) I do have a hardcopy of the book, but when I really enjoy a book, I want it on my kindle.

Thanks for your reply :)

It looks like the kindle price is the same as the paperback, $7.99. Are you in the U.S.?

No, I'm in Canada.

and it's $5.76 to me in France - what do I win?

lol..Now I'm really starting to feel slighted. I mean we all (Canadian's) know we're going to pay more than they do in the States (for everything) but now we're more than France? Ouch!

if it helps, most of the ones that I seem to be getting cheaper than US residents are coming from UK publishers

I've been thinking about it. Nah, it doesn't help, but thanks. As for your prize, I've been thinking about that as well. Here it is. You have won a trip to Canada, just so you can finish off doing reno's on my bathroom. Oh did I mention that you have to pay for airfare, but I'll pick you up at the airport. How's that? Great deal if you ask

CBRetriever says:
if you're anywhere near the Rockies, it's a deal, but I'll let Mr CBR do the reno and you and I can go off gallivanting around

btw, I don't envy you doing that - I spent three months w/o my main bathroom since it had to be completely replaced (termite damage in the studs)

Its a deal! I live about four hours away from Jasper Alberta, not so far from the mountains. It is beautiful there for sure. You are so right about doing a bathroom. I built this one from scratch. I'll never do another one, the next one, I'm hiring someone to come in and do it. Either that, or I'll date someone who does that kind of

does anyone know if 2 kindles can share the same account? I am getting my son a knidle and want to control his purchases.

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 16, 2012, 4:05:48 PM PDT
I believe you can do that. Just send amazon an email and ask them. (or you could call them)

No problem. I have several Kindles and apps registered to the same account. Mary, you might also want to check out the parental controls for the Kindle you're considering for your son. I think the Kindle Basic (the $79 wi-fi only Kindle) now has parental controls that permit you to lock out the wi-fi and archives.
