I want to get a Kindle Fire and give my Kindle Touch to my sister. Can I transfer my e-books to the Fire? Also, will my account be linked to her or will she be able to start her own account with my old Kindle? Thank you, Susan

Bixillarla says:
When you get the Fire just register it to your account and all your Amazon purchased books will be in the archives waiting to be downloaded.

All you have to do is reset the Touch to factory settings and it will wipe it of all your content and deregister it, your sister then can register it to her Amazon account.

Actually it's a bit easier, on the fire just go to 'Books' then a little tab with Device Cloud. All your past purchased books are on the Cloud.

I personally share my books with a few members of my family. I just told them I get charged if they purchase anything. So please give me a call if you really want something. I haven't had any calls. :)

Enjoy the new Fire Susan, so nice of you to give the touch to your sister.

Marie, click on your account. Scroll down to Digital content and them click on Manage your Kindle. All of your books will show up in your library archives.

How to xfer books from Fire to my original Kindle and not lose them from the Fire

Just figured it out. Since all the books are in the cloudand the cloud is accessable in archived books it can be retrieved from there.

Hi peeps, I got a new kindle for my birthday last month and i was wondering if there was anyway i could keep my kindle books on my account but remove them off my actual kindle to save space for more books, but i also dont want to lose any of the ones ive just finished. Hi, I bought a kindle fire from a friend and Id like to keep the apps she has on it, but if I deregister it from her and register it under my name, will I lose all the previous apps?

De-registering a Fire removes all Amazon content.

Is there a way for her to email the things saved in her account or do I just start over?

No, e-mailing them won't work. You have to start over.

I want to get my daughter a kindle fire. She has been reading on my kindle. Is there a way to transfer her books that are now under my account to her own?

No, books belong to an account and cannot be transferred to another. You could register the Fire to your account, and her books would be available to download.

Does anyone know if I can transfer my books from Kindle PC (on my desktop)
to my Kindle touch?? New at this. Thanks a million, Barry

All the registered devices can receive books bought on the account. The apps (and for this purpose, the Fire is considered an app) will be listed in alpha order. Name the Fire something that comes first alphabetically, and it will be the default for downloads.

You don't transfer them. Just register the touch to the same Amazon account as the PC, turn on the wi-fi and do a sync. The list of titles on the account will appear under the archive/cloud. Tap a title, and it will download.

I don't have wi-fi at the house so does this mean my Kindle touch can not be registered?? Your a wondrful person for helping, Barry

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 16, 2012, 3:06:46 PM PST
What it means is you have to find someplace with wi-fi to register it. Then you can download the books and transfer them using a USB connection. Is there a Starbucks, or a MacDonald's anywhere near you? a public library? Those usually offer free wi-fi. If not, do you have a friend or neighbor who would allow you to use their wi-fi? You only need to connect for a minute or two to complete the registration.

I just got my Fire, and it didn't have anything in my cloud either, though I have many books on my regular kindle reader. However, when I turned off my Fire, and turned it on again, it "upgraded" itself and suddenly all my books were there!
