Does anyone have any comments about the Bluetooth feature?

I'm not sure what you're looking for, but I can easily connect a bluetooth keyboard to my HD. Love it!

Thanks That is the kind of info I wanted. I use a BT Ear Buds for my phone and have been looking forward to the same with the Fire HD.

I am having problems connecting my Kindle Fire HD with my 2011 Mini's bluetooth. On the Bluetooth tab, the Fire HD lists the Mini as Paired, but not as an Available Device, and it doesn't connect. No attempts to restart the Kindle, deleting all BT pairings, ect. have any effect.

Rob D,

Are you trying to play music through your auto speakers? Is that why you're trying to connect?

Found this at http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_201008210_apps?nodeId=201008210#bluetooth

Kindle Fire HD supports the following Bluetooth profiles:
*A2DP Streams audio to compatible Bluetooth speakers, headphones, and many car audio systems.
*AVRCP Receives basic media commands, such as play/pause and increase/decrease volume from compatible devices.
*HID Connects to compatible Bluetooth keyboards.
*OPP Enables users to push data from compatible computers or phones.

Note: Bluetooth microphones and microphone-enabled headsets are not supported.

Yep; exactly! I had had a Kindle Fire 2nd generation and played music via the mini usb cable. With the KF HD, the usb cable doesn't work; i cannot play music from my Kindle through the MINI's sound system. I called Amazon and customer support suggested using the bluetooth.

I'm trying to use bluetooth headphones to listen to music with the Kinivo BTH220. KFHD says it's paired with the device but then my wifi disconnects and I can't play my music! it seems KFHD doesn't allow me to use bluetooth headphones and stream music simultaneously or am I missing something? Any help is welcome .

Quebett,

Cannot help you specifically except to say that I use bluetooth headphones with my KFHD and stream audio from Pandora and TuneIn Radio without problems.

Hmm, well that's good to know. Did you have to change any settings to get it to work?

jsh1120 says:
No. None. I'm struck by your comment that your wifi "disconnects" when your bluetooth is active. That is extremely odd. The bluetooth connection is somehow interfering with your wifi connection. If you reconnect to your wifi network after the bluetooth headphones are both paired and connected does it work? Does it come on momentarily and then disconnect?

Interesting information, T. Summerfield. That was going to be my next line of recommendation but since Quebett reported that the headphones "paired" I assumed they were at least recognized appropriately.

I do know that not all BT headphones work with the KFHD. I have a pair of "Auvio" headphones (Radio Shack brand) that work flawlessly.

On the mouse issue, I think you're out of luck. Most tablets do not support a bluetooth mouse of any kind. I know my iPad does not, for example. The problem goes beyond simply connecting the device; the tablet must have a means to display it and make it operable in apps.

Looking at the Logitech mouse it indicates it uses the Bluetooth HID profile, which is one of the profiles supported on the Fire, although Amazon specifically list that as for "compatible Bluetooth keyboards".

T. Summerfield,

I'm not saying that a mouse is not available on any android device. I said it isn't available on many tablets, whatever the operating system. Rooting the device may enable such a feature but that's a whole different ballgame.

do you know if those tablets have mouse support natively or is an app required.

T. Summerfield,

Didn't mean to create a dispute here. I think my remark about other tablets created some confusion. The bottom line is that we agree the Logitech Android Mouse will not work with the Kindle Fire. Right? If you find a mouse that does work with the KF, it would useful to hear about it.
