Wasatch Range, my biggest problem has been that the monitor screen suddenly fades to a dark blue/gray and becomes inactive. The mouse is inactive also. I keep hitting the alt/ctrl/del key and sometimes the screen will become active for a few minutes or longer. It seems like once I get into Chrome, it will sometimes work for hours. If I try to go to IE or print something or go into the Control Panel, it fades again. Many times I have to turn it off and reboot and try again. Really frustrating but hoping to have it fixed soon. I was finally able to get into Sony system info long enough to get all the info I needed.

Misscali, good to hear from you. It's great that so many have found their way together again. FB&C still has some of the old crowd plus a lot of very nice new people.

I'm enjoying both threads, but wish we could make it one again.

Hi, EC.

Yes, I'm a night owl. Always have been which made it difficult when I was still working!

"Rahoo, it was my Fire Tab that renamed you Taboo. The Loo was supposed to be Lol, so much for auto correct!"

Oh Gosh! That was so funny! Thanks for a wonderful chuckle. :)

In my infinate wisdom, I decided that I did not need help moving furniture. My back decided otherwise. Just got up to take some pain meds as my back decided to let me know that it is still unhappy. :o/

Robin, I got the giggles from Rahoo. Her humor is priceless! Glad we made you chuckle too.

Oh, EC, that was so NOT a good idea! Do you have a heating pad, as well?

Hope it feels better tomorrow, but you should probably take it easy for a few days.

Liz, it always looks like a brilliant idea until you do it.

I think if I just sit here until the pain meds kick in it will be fine. I would go sit in the hot tub but I am too lazy to lift the cover.

Posted on Aug 3, 2012, 12:18:10 AM PDT
The hot tub would probably feel great on your back but it's 3:30 am. If the time doesn't bother you, and the cover is light weight so as not to aggravate your already sore back, that is exactly what I would do!

Hope you feel better soon.

Liz

The cover is on a lift. I am simply too lazy to go out there. Hopefully it will settle down in another 10-15 minutes. It is almost bearable at the moment, and I am tired.

Thanks.

Hope you are able to get some good rest tonight, EC.

Heading to bed myself to read for a while or actually listen to a book on Audible. Took advantage of the 2 free audiobooks for the Audible trial run. Enjoying, listening while I do chores around the house and when I go to bed. I picked out 2 new books that I really wanted but cost 12.99 - 14.99. How perfect was this timing. I thought I'd better listen to them quickly because I might cancel at the end of the month. Would I then lose the audio books I downloaded?

Let me know how you like them. I have lots of them that I listen to on road trips.

Off to bed again before it gets light. Enjoy. Good night Liz.

Hi! I'm enjoying a tall glas of unsweetened iced tea, freshly brewed. I already had 3 cups of coffee so I'm waiting for my caffeine buzz to kick in so I can get busy on some housework. I just whipped up a big batch of pimento cheese so I'm looking forward to my lunch, it tastes better if it gets to sit in the fridge for a few hours but I'm having a hard time waiting.

Blood Orchids (The Lei Crime Series) Oh, looks like I got this one in March. I love Hawaii. I really have to start a TBR list. I can never remember what the books are about.

Moggy... I have never made pimento cheese from scratch. How do you do it?

Pat

ETA... I just stripped the bed and put the sheets in to wash. Took a shower. And DH works from home on Friday, so it really isn't a day off for me. :-(

Moggy K says:
Its super easy Grammiam~ I just tried a slightly different recipe I found on the foodnetwork so it was grated cheese, mayo, cream cheese, onion (I used powder because I don't like raw onion in mine) pimentos some freshly grated pepper. (I add a dash of worchestshire and tabasco but those are optional). I've never made it with cream cheese before but its pretty good, makes it a little creamier. I added more grated cheese than the recipe called for though because I think they called for too much mayo.

Yep, its sheets day for me as well, looks like I'll be able to hang them out to dry too ~ I love the smell of fresh bed linens dried on the line.

Unfortunately, no clotheslines are allowed in our housing development. Nothing beats the smell of line-dried sheets!

Yummy on crackers I bet. Thanks for the recipe!

Grammiam, you can get the measurements and exact recipe here if you want to try it, great on crackers and even for dipping veggies in. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/bobbys-pimento-cheese-recipe/index.html

Yeah, luckily I live in an old neighborhood where all the houses were built before home owners associations were ever heard of, back in the very early 50's. We're only governed by city laws such as no junk cars in the yard, other than that we can do pretty much as we please.

Grammiam,
Are you having a nice Friday?
It's a bit too warm here. I'm having a "you expect me to move" kind of day, so I'm busy annoying people in the forum.

Too warm here, too. And humid. Went out to water the potted trees and could hardly breathe.

I did manage to finish my son's t-shirt quilt today. Doing the happy dance! Quilting is not my favorite thing to do... too much perfect corner matching. I'm more of a crochet kind of gal. But it's too hot to do any of that. I just want to read. But then I feel like I'm not getting anything done. :-(. And the dust bunnies are taking over.

I'm dog sitting for my youngest this week while he is on vacation. Not looking forward to walking him in this heat. Yuck.

Grammiam - You've been rattling about by yourself for quite awhile. I've been trying to run errands in +94 heat and oppressive humidity. Now, must act like a "haus frau" and clean up a storm, as opposed to my usual sweep the room with a glance. Very happy to have several very disparate projects pop up; however, would have much appreciated a slower pace with larger gaps of time. I'm tempted to leave bed unmade until much later as will prevent urge to flop. May also keep barco-lounger piled high with stuff picked up earlier to prevent another hoovering mishap.

Alas! My soul aches to merely read, read, read......Altruism pales in comparison!

Considering screen name change: TabooRahoo or TaboRahooTigaroo. While "Taboo Tales from the Loo is not for the faint of heart, neither is watching or even glimpsing my Top hat song & dance homage to Fred & Ginger a la jazzy Gershwin tunes.

None the less, I'll give you a wee tease: LaRue Red rode into town late one searingly hot and humid afternoon. "Torrid, torrid". she thought. "I've spent a month here one similarly scorching afternoon just last month". The townsfolk gasped in awe and scurried away, searching frantically for switches and whips - for just such an occasion. All fell silent as they knew LaRue Red was a woman unaccustomed to social amenities. Why they had heard she was the kind of woman to (((OMG!! Gasp! Quiver!!))) use a No Pest Strip as a panty shield!! Indeed!! Oh, the horror and, in a few cases, sheer admiration! Yes, LaRue Red was 350 on the hoof, give or take a pound or two. As the saying goes: She did not suffer fools gladly - but she did not hesitate to gladly make fools suffer. The world let her be judge and jury. That is until now........

Rock steady!!
