Got one last week. Must be time for them to run over their list again and see who falls for it.

Purely coincidental. Somebody is sending out thousands of these phishing emails every day. Pretty much certain that every now and then they send one to somebody who has just made an Amazon purchase.
Chill. They didn't "know" you had made a purchase.
Send the email to

My spouse got a similar email yesterday. He has not ordered anything from Amazon for quite some time. It's a phishing expedition. Interesting thing about the one we got was that the email was sent and received on 5/6 but the date in the body of the email was 5/7. The "order" was cancelled before it was even placed. lol

Been getting those at my yahoo address and since yahoo is not the address for my amazon account I know they are spam. If I hover over the link in the email I can see it's gonna lead to an online pharmacy for mens stuff. They use the rouse it's amazon so then it doesn't get sent to your spam folder but arrives in your inbox. I get my mail through a mail program so can just right click and bounce to sender and they get a message the address is no good so that should stop it for me. Mary

I've received about 10 of these since last Thursday or Friday.
I reported them-pasted/copied as per Amazon instructions here and emailed them to Ammy. I haven't yet received a response.
None of the orders that are listed are valid, in my case.

Just wanted to add the same thing has happened to me. I placed an order on Amazon earlier this week for my kindle and in the past 2 days I have received one of these emails every day. I also am wondering how they knew I was shopping on Amazon.

Again, they don't know, but if they send out enough of these, somebody will fall for it and click thru to the Viagra ad or wherever. That's all they're interested in.
It's like the ones I've gotten from Bank of America warning me about a problem with my account. I KNOW it's phishing because I don't have an account with BoA, but lots of people do so sometimes the message goes to somebody who does have an account. Lots of people shop at Amazon, so statistically they're bound to get a hit every now and then.

So far haven't gotten one of the Amazon cancellation things but yesterday received what would look on the surface as innocuous. It purported to be from Verizon and said my bill was ready to be viewed and in the amount of $1132.00! Since I have not had a Verizon account for over 3 years, I knew it was some sort of spam. Would a real Verizon customer have clicked on the link, distraught because of the amount? I don't know. But it was a good reminder to me to always go to your various accounts from your browser, not a link in e-mail.

I have verizon and I get legitimit emails when the bill is due so one could be fooled. I got a UPS or fed ex one a few weeks ago and I was expecting a package but I knew darn well they didn't have my email to contact me. The spam stuff is getting ridicilous. Mary
