does anyone know what to do if your kindle fire freezes and will not go to home and will not turn off

@Dottie Barney

Press and hold the power button for a full 20 seconds.

Then let it sit for a moment, and then turn it on.

Hi I'm new to the KFire. I have the send to kindle software, and tried to send a doc, wifi on, all the steps followed, and even on my fire it has the email link and says now you can transfer files to your kindle, but when I click the "send to kindle" a box comes up and says choose a device, yet does not show my devices, and although they are all registered, it says to register my kindle. For some reason my kindle is invisible. :(

I downloaded music from my PC to my Kindle Fire. It shows on the menu, but it doesn't play. Do I need to do something to get it to play on my Kindle Fire? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How do I remove books from my Kindle Fire cloud?

A. Dietz says:
Go to the Manage Your Kindle page on https://amazon.com, click on "actions" next to the book, click on "delete" and click on "yes" to confirm that you understand this is a permanent deletion and that you'll have to buy the book again if you ever want to read it again. Go back to your Kindle Fire, connect to WiFi and do a sync.

We already have an Amazon Prime membership in the family, do we need a new one for the Kindle registered user to access the movies, books etc?

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 19, 2012, 1:28:09 PM PDT
Register the Kindle to the same account as the Prime membership. If it's a Fire, it'll have access to the movies. Prime gives you ONE book to BORROW each month, regardless of how many devices you have registered.

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 19, 2012, 1:28:24 PM PDT
The Kindle has to be registered to the main Prime account, not to a guest account.

Christine says:
You use the same Prime account

Is there a limit to how many books you can have on the Kindle Fire? I rec'd a weird message about reaching the end of something, sorry I don't remember exactly, when I just purchased a new book. Have several in, only had it a week; but hubby uses the same one.

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 23, 2012, 7:54:07 PM PDT
@C. Davis

I am sure that Amazon has no limit on the number of books that you can buy for your Kindle Fire. You may have a storage limit. But you can check that for your self.

Tap the Gear Icon in the upper right corner. Then tap the More Button. Scroll down to Settings and tap that. Scroll down to Device and tap that. See how much storage room you have left.

On my kindle 3g i am able to listen to my books as I drive to work but I recently received the kindle fire as a gift and could not find that on the fire. plus is there a way to get rid of books on either. I have removed them from my amazon manager bt they still appear on my kindles.Kindle Touch 3G, Free 3G + Wi-Fi, 6" E Ink Display - includes Special Offers & Sponsored ScreensaversKindle Fire, Full Color 7" Multi-touch Display, Wi-Fi

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 29, 2012, 7:23:18 AM PDT
One, the Fire does not have text to speech.

Two, both devices have users guides. Reading them will tell you how to delete items.

Can my books from my kindle be transfered to the my new kindle fire? Is the screen the same size?

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 30, 2012, 12:25:37 PM PDT
You don't transfer them, you register the Fire to your same Amazon account and download them to it directly from Amazon. With your Fire connected via WiFi and registered to your account all your books will appear on the Carousel ready to click on to download. They'll also appear on your Books tab when "Cloud" is selected.

The screens are the same size, but the fonts are different so books may look a little different between your devices.

Thanks Bruce, I am tech challenged and was going to give the "old" kindle to my daughter, her and and I do not have the same taste in reading material.

sometimes on airplanes my solitaire won't work saying I need to connect to the internet, but only sometimes. I also get an "internal service failure" message, anyone know why?

@james

Some times an application will need to phone home, especially the free apps.

Please help! I have the old kindle with over 200 books. I bought a kindle fire and it showed the books were on there which I hadn't tried to read yet, and I also downloaded several movies & tv shows. I went to download another show and it told me i was running low on space. I went online and deleted alot of books but when I checked my kindle fire, they weren't removed and each book I clicked on it told me something about too many devices. I'm totally new to this stuff and am starting to regret I got a new kindle. I think I'm confused about the cloud, doe that mak a
difference? Sorry if this is confusing, just like me! I have an ipod touch too, but don't use it for books or movies. Thanks for any help.
